hello everyone i was just wondering when you map a model in uv mapper and save the model and texture map... whats the ideal settings for the options? i've just been leaving it on the default choises. thanks :)

Steve Cox the creater of UV, says make the bit map 1024 x 1024 for the obj file you can leave the settings at the default unless when you import things to Poser and your stuff looks inside out you will have to check a setting that says, "reverse winding order". Those options have a lot to do with your normals and how they react to other software on import. Sharen

heyas; you should actually turn off 'export normals' when saving stuff for poser. makes your obj a bit smaller, and poser doesnt bother with them, anyway.

Blood is right, It says that in the PPP manual.

I cut a model size down by 38% by that trick the other day.

If you load any of the standard P4 OBJs in UVMapper, the don't have normals. Neither does Vicki and probably not Mike either.

This is good to know for anyone making models. This small step realy saves a lot in the way of file size. Thanks for checking that out there wyrwulf.
