I see it's free for P9 and 2012 users.  Don't have either, so in the words of SM, Stuffit. :)

Yes, she gets my thumbs up so far.

I used amber hair in this render. I had to unhide the dials for translate in the head part of the hair, and then the hair came in nicely.

Eyelashes as a separate obj.. great.. You can render down on them finally, leave them behind when in Zbrush and not worry about trashing them. Old Miki3 texture with baked in lip gloss. not good. cropped it off after a long render.

What, she's not also free to us DAZ Studio 4 Genesis users too? T.T

(jk, although I downloaded DS4, I have yet to install it).

Miki 4 looks awesome by the way.  I should upgrade my software...

They look a bit long to me.....

But, that aside I will be using her a lot..

I originally had them too small, they got scaled up somewhere along the way. I may have over did it.

Quote - Just to shift the critical focus, temporarily, away from Laurie's foot obsessions... LOL... I think her armpits are fantastic Teyon

I think armpits might even matter to me as much as feet matter to Laurie... maybe. Maybe that's my new thing... armpits

Personally, I like her feet too... maybe more so with a touch of arch morph added... sure.

I find that armpits are often overlooked in most 3D models. So I tried to pay attention to that area. I'm glad it paid off. Next time, it'll be feet hands and....armpits! :D

I agree, it really does suit her doesn't it.  It's called amber hair and it is at rdna.  I'm a huge fan of bangs.

It was really easy to get it to fit.  I just unhid the translate dial in the neck part of the hair and dialed y until it sat nicely.

Here's a screen cap of the dial.

The problem is how the image shows up on the forum. I really didn't do any scaling, since she is the shortest of my poser women, slightly shorter that Alyson. This was just a quick and dirty project. I think I'll just delete the post. The distortion is not in the original.

So this inspired me to learn the morph brush. I only did one foot and I'd start over again just because I learned so much.

Left is before, right is after.

I also found that bending and scaling each toe into a more realistic position was very helpful.

Definitely looks better, but I think I'll be sticking to GND4 and GNDA2 for feet!

Have to say I'm a little underwhelmed. She has the strangest looking butt I've ever seen. Also, whoever rigged the eyes has probably never used the "point at" feature in Poser or they would know how badly they screwed up.

Why make the eyelashes a seperate figure? That's just going to make developement harder.

Back to her eyes...she does indeed look crosseyed. I wish as well that she had morphs to move her eyes and eye sockets up or down and in or out as well as increasing their size (without using the anime morph)...all very important to me in creating unique characters.

The "ear up/down" morph isn't very good because it leaves the "attachment point" in the same spot and just "stretches the ear.

One last thing. I HATE the exe installer!!! I am not an idiot who needs to have everything installed for me! In fact, I don't want ANYTHING in the places you decided to put them! I want geometries in the geometry  folder. I want pmd files all in an injection folder.  PLEASE...don't do me any favors! Just give me the zip, I'll put everything where I want and run it through Poser File Organizer to correct the references.

Rant over.

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

that's anice looking character already.  But have you not tried the faceroom to adjust the features more?

You will need to turn off those extra eyelashes and switch back to transmapped.  both are included.  for me the more options the better.

why would you not want to manually move the eyes separately from each other for a less crosseyed look?  when people look at something close up their eyes converge, and when they look at something in the distance their eyes diverge.  does the point at trick adjust for that movement?

To resize and move the eyes, use the face room. There are dials there specifcally for that and moving the ears.

So if you don't like the one in her head actor, you can use the ones in the face room.

Quote - Yuppers, for sure, Teyon and Darrell did a great job. They worked hard, and it shows!

Agreed! FWIW, the core team who delivered Miki4?

The folks that worked on Miki3 plus these dedicated team members who actually delivered Miki4:

  • Darrel Glidden for rigging, ghost bones, ABCs, JCMs, material conversions and dependencies
  • Teyon Alexander for modeling, full and partial body/actor morphs
  • Denise Tyler for documentation and testing
  • Steve Rathmann for coordinating the beta program, managing SVN and building our installers
  • Uli Klumpp and Larry Weinberg for providing engineering support and some critical poser fixes that enable better bending and scaling
-Snarlygribbly for EZSkin and for lending his eyes to the project before we closed the door
  • my superiors at Smith for recognizing that injecting joy into the Poser space with a freebie this big has value
  • Tori Porter, Steve Yatson and Lin Petrucci for helping build out the back end and the marketing components
  • and of course - to all the fantastic beta testers!

We've been on this project for a year, and it is very satisfying to finally be able to share her.

Some people would bitch if they were hung with new rope.

There are these things called "morphs" with with figure, you can change the shape of the butt if it isn't to your fancy.

The eyelashes as a separate figure were in response to customer input on Miki 2 or 3, I remember a number of requests for it.

If you don't like how the eyes and ears work, redo the rigging in the modeler of your choice.

The exe installer is there for a reason.

According to the Poser Product Manager, the exe was necessary because some files had to be added to the Poser program to support Tyler and Miki4.  It won't be necessary for the next version of Poser.

Well, ok.

"Thank(s) you for generously (or is that really "gernerously"?) giving away 2 free characters.

Now then...

What I really meant to say is that just like V4...who's base figure was also "free"...I'd be delighted to pay for a set of morphs equivalent to V4's Morphs++, which include all the features I mentioned.

Are we happy yet?

"Some people would bitch if they were hung with new rope."

**Hmm...I don't know. I think I would bitch no what type of rope was used to hang me.
**

"There are these things called "morphs" with with figure, you can change the shape of the butt if it isn't to your fancy."

That's a bit of a stutter you've got there.

**I've already done some work on her butt with the morph tool...but, 1: I stand by my claim that she has an ugly butt and 2: there are no morphs included in the package that will fix it.
**

"The eyelashes as a separate figure were in response to customer input on Miki 2 or 3, I remember a number of requests for it."

Since I don't frequent either Smith Micro's or Content Paradise's forums, I was unaware that anyone had ever complained of it being an issue. I may have missed it, but I don't remember anyone bringing it up here either. Since, as I have now been informed, she does, indeed, have eyelashes built in, it become as much a non-issue as V4's eyebrow zone that hardly anyone uses.*

"If you don't like how the eyes and ears work, redo the rigging in the modeler of your choice."

Ahh. I guess that's your answer to any complaint..."I you don't like it, fix it yourself!" You assume I haven't already done so. Your mistake.*

*The exe installer is there for a reason. *

Unless it made a change to the actual poser exe file, it's not...certainly it adds nothing to the runtime that could not be handled with a regular zip file.

One thing I learmned from working on V4WM is that each person notices different things about a Figure.  I myself was concerned about the bending of the collars and shoulders, but somehow no one paid much mind to the elbows; it wasn't until after she was released that someone pointed out they could bend better; I even have test renders showing her bent elbows!
