Hi Folks,

I have a Poser Pro, i rarely use it as I was concentrating on architectural work, now i need to bang out a character using Poser (and finally MAX). And have forgotten much of what i used to know about poser :-(

I need to create a bodybuilder with good detail on arms and legs- torso, head not important as i only need legs and arms.

I have Poser Pro and M4 along with the max importer.

Can someone point me in right direction to what I need to do, do i need to buy morphs, figures etc, What is a good workflow?

big thanks

I'm not clear which version of Poser Pro you have since the term was used since version 4. However before purchasing new content, suggest that you load the SimonG2 figure, select its BODY and set the Mesomorph dial to 1.000 and see if that suits your purpose.

If your version does not have that figure then look through the figure library and try others. Many of the Poser figures include some form of muscular morph.

Okay, for morphs, if you have the morphs++ over at daz, you should be fine for shape.  I'm not really sure about max importer.   If you want in poser realism, you could download VSS by bagginsbill (free, search forums for it) and then use his James or 240 shaders (search for those by him too).

Thing is, I don't know about the max part so if it doesn't pull over the mats then those last things won't help.  It sounds like you can import into max via object format.  If that is the case, morph and pose M4 first and then export him as an .obj file.

WARK!

I just checked, > V7  (V7.0.4.220,) i bought this back in 08'

Is that in V7, i did a search for it in the online user guide, nothing came up :(

Thanks

Okay, then ignore what I said about BB's shaders and VSS: that version wouldn't work with them.  You can still export the obj file of a posed m4.

yeah getting it into max is not a problem, max can import in .pz3 files

when i select SimonG2's body and then morph tool I cannot get the Mesomorph tool, if i select a body part then i can all up its (mesomorph) dialogue,

what should i do next, go and buy morphs?

thanks

@ Winterclaw, the older version of VSS will work with PoserPro.  That was when the script was introduced.

@ tom182, you do not use the morph tool, SimonG2's is a builtin body morph.  Select Simon and look on the parameters tab of the Parameters/Properties panel.

Simon comes with all the morphs you need to do this - there is no need to buy any morphs.

I think you may be clicking on the morphing brush tool.

Select the body, then go to the parameter settings. There should be a section labeled FBM (Full Body Morph). That is where you will find the mesomorph dial. This is the body shape you should get (minus the pink speedo).
