Quote - I am a little insecure about posting my latest upload here cuz it's a 'full view nude'..
Awf cuz I tried to make it a tasteful nude, but for me I pushed the 'boundries' of what to show and what not.
When I realised a woman has no bodyparts she should be ashamed of, I pushed the button 'submit'.
1920 X 1080 in full view.
Here is the link to the Deviant page where you can see 'Justine -from the Top-'

Please let me know what you think of it. Tasteful nude, functional nude or.. Too much..?
Two regular meshlight.
Well, my opinions don't count

Why do you say that Anton? Awf cuz your opinion does count!
Very nice image you uploaded on Rendo btw. It gave me a smile :)
Because I like all your renders LOL. I don't think you can do a bad one :)
Quote - Here's one for anyone that might know the answer. For the last couple of months.. no matter what eye texture I use(except for dublin and a couple others). The eyes on my characters always turn out black. I've tried everything I can do and it always ends up the same. Solid black eyes.
I think you need to do something with the cornea, if I remember correctly.

Here's the fix from the man himself.
Quote - Well, there is no doubt in my mind that the Lux version looks a lot more realistic and with more vibrant in colors.
Thank you for the test.
Hopefully maybe some day some talented guy with a cool accent will make a plugin to use Lux with C4D. I'd definitely be willing to give my money to that guy if he does.

I see on the DS forum there is a free plugin to render with blender..

Quote - I stuggled with eyes early on make sure you have glass set 1.40 make sure there is no maps in all glass modifiers & alpha also make sure all ior and thickness settings are set to 0.000
If you set the IOR to 0.00 there will be NO reflections in the eyes.. If you set it to 1.00 there will be :)

Interesting what do you set the film thickness at?
For the eyes you don't set the film thickness. That is only for special effects.
The cornea of the eye usually comes perfect straight from Reality, there is really nothing to retouch, unless you have textures in the wrong place, like bump map.
The cornea should have IOR 1.4, set to archi, pure white transmission and pure white reflection. No textures anywhere, unless you are going for supernatural effects. The same for the eye surface (V4, not Genesis).
That's all that you need. The rest is in the lighting.
Hope this helps.

Quote - @ Lasserine: Just make sure you use a high-detailed skin, then it should work just fine like Amethst25 said. :)
Now an image I made for J Ray, hope he likes it. :)
Woohoo! Lovely legs and hose, Charley. You've managed to make them look oh-so-touchable. Nice touch with the gold as well.
(Sorry it took so long to respond. I was away for a few days.)

So we will still need to enter sky2 in the lxm file got it
Lux can drive you nuts at times (in a good way) after long suffering up to over 8 hours for my sci fi cockpit scenes now that she has moved outdoors the scenes are taking less then 20 minutes! I am guessing it all depends on the material and lighting...
The number of lights affects the render times. If you turned your cockpit into a light then each polygon in the surface is a light source, which adds time. A more efficient approach is to turn the cockpit into a glass plane, set it to archi and place a light source, a meshlight, underneath.
Cheers.

Thanks finally I dont think it was due to the lighting cause I rendered it without the converted lights (simulating shutting the ship down) and it took just as long with just a few mesh lights. I am guessing perhaps because I had converted all the other surfaces to Reality default metal? Anyhoo no matter I am getting what I want done. I was just commenting an the extreme times depending on what is set up in a scene...
Also I have scene you coment on using the sun being a harsh light. I have no problems with it. I find setting the balance between the sky and sunlight with film response can give some nice results. I am going to be done with my next chapter later will post some renders...
Dark scenes take also a lot longer to render. If you want to make a scene faster to render then add more light, so that the surfaces are hit by light more often and they resolve (converge) more quickly. You can alway adjust the aperture to turn the image darker. If light doesn't hit a certain point of the image then it takes longer to render it.
This is the same that is done in photography/cinematography. If you shoot only with practical lights you often end up with an unusable photo. The skilled photographer adds lights to the scene in a subtle way that can help the camera capture more while not changing the mood of the image. We need to remember that Lux is a camera, not an eye. Cameras have a much more limited perception of light than the human eye.
Help the camera and you will get better results faster.

You mentioned that before. I also ran into issues with this for example the island surrounded by water renders I posted a few pages back. One of then due to the sunlight being in the back the front of the characters leaving the front too dark. I added a curve light ponting upwards at them.
Problem then was the curve lights reflections always looked powder like that never cleared up after 10 hours plus.. I resolved it by removing the curve light and re directing the sunlight. I ran into this issue with adding a mesh light to IBL as well.
I strongly suspect that I run into these issues due to sometimes needing to alter character's sizes due to my concept so I prolly need to just find what works. With the cockpit renders everything was at their defult size.
Mind you I am not a photographer..
Quote - Very nice series Bob!
Many thanks high parises long render times for the most part but well worth the results. Hopefully 1.2 is a bit faster. Overall Lux is much faster then version .9 then when I started with almost a year ago...
Another lesson I am lerning that can help speed up times in rendering my current chapter hiding unseen body parts its quite something..

Wohooo! It took a "few" months to render, but now you can see my newest videoclip on youtube. It was animated in DAZ 3.x and renderd with Luxrender on 3xI7 simultanously.Of course Paolo's Reality was used to export the animation. An own written Program was used, where u see the merging of cg and real actor within the clip.
So grab some Popcorn and enjoy my newest Videoclip! And yes, this time the music was also created by me! ;-)
Thanks Callad! Thanks, John3d!
Well to be honest, I think for 90 minutes it is a long time to go, with my equipment! ;-)
Soooo, I think, the next thing to go for is a MusicVideo Clip with about 2 to 3 Minutes. I'm currently working on some own DanceMusic, which in fact is close to be ready and hopefully also soon to be published.
And then I try to do the complete MusicVideo to this. This is also the reason for the experimental merging of real life with cg-art in Animation. So this clip was only a proof-of-concept, if and how it would be possible.

Justine in white, pantyhose, panties, dress and pumps, all white since some of you like that :)Quote - Wohooo! It took a "few" months to render, but now you can see my newest videoclip on youtube. It was animated in DAZ 3.x and renderd with Luxrender on 3xI7 simultanously.

That's very nice, but when did you take my table.
Seriously I had a table like in my first apartment!

Tut tut! Did nobody teach Justine that it is bad manners to climb on furniture, and with shoes as well?!
That said, a delicious beautiful render :)
