Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
Hi
Uninstall Poser and then run CCleaner registry scan to get rid of left over junk.
Then try reinstalling it again but don't install it to the same directory.
You are probably picking up something corrupt from the previous install.
If you put the program in a different location Windows will see it as something new and ignore previous installs.
You can install it in a folder named New Poser Install outside of the Programs folder or where ever you want.

Quote - Removing only Poser's preference files often helps.
Poser creates a new set on next startup.
Search for Poser.ini and delete that folder and all its files only.
Don't delete Poser.ini! Rename it. If you delete it and it's not the problem, you have lost your settings. If renamimg it solves the problem you can selectively paste important settings back in.....

You wouldn't, by chance, have your pagefile turned off in windows would you? If you do, turn it back on and see if the behavior goes away.
I was one of the idiots who took bad advice on the internet and turnbed the pagefile off. My 20 Gig ram computer choked on a huge render I was doing... turning pagefile back on fixed it right up.

Hi folks
Houston, we have a problem. Poser 8 and Windows XP. Rendering a scene the f****** Poser crashed, and now when I hit the Poser icon I receive inmediately the message "Poser executable file has stopped working" for three times and... nothing more
I reinstalled Poser 8 and no changes. Obviously I've restarted the computer lots of times. HELPPPPP!!!
