Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 7:01 am)
Did Windows Update add Internet Explorer 11? If so, you need to get the latest Service release for Poser 9 or higher.

If you are using Poser 8 or PP2010, you need to uninstall IE 11...
PS Lovely fish!

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Ol K, By Firewall you mean Windows User Account Control, presuming you have Poser installed somewhere in the c:Program Files folder. This is why the content needs to be installed outside of C:|Program Files on Windows Vista or higher; It is a security feature and only Poser can write to that directory. You don't have to install content to Shared Documents if you have space somewhere else, such as on another partition; just specify where you want it installed if you are installing Poser. If you are installing new content create a directory, (mine is called 'Poser Library') unzip the content there and add it to the library as an external runtime.
User Acount Control can be disabled, but it is not recommended because of security issues, so I would find a different location for your content, but if there is no other way; do this at your own risk...

EDIT; I should add that a sneaky way to get around this is simply to install Poser outside of c:program files, such as in C:Poser.
To allow Poser access to the internet, set your firewall to allow access to Poser.exe and FFRender.exe (or PoserPro.exe, FFRender.exe and lsmgui.exe if you are using Poser Pro) Here's how to do it for the Windows 7 firewall...

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."SO C: drive is full? If ypou weren't able to to complete the content installation the easiest to handle it is to delete the content directory (presuming it contans only the included content, and not any of yours) and reinstall Poser , pointing it to install the content on another drive; either to a D: or E: drive, or to a mapped network drive.
If you have a network drive, you should be able to map the network directory and install the content there...

Since you are using Poser Pro 2010, you will certainly need to install the update before running it. If it still won't start, you may also need to manually switch the external library on be editing Poser.ini, which can be found in your user data under Application DataPoser Pro9.0, and changing LIBRARY_IS_AIR from 0 to 1...
