Subject: Scene Rotation?

dlm4001 ( ) posted Sun, 23 February 2014 at 7:19 PM · edited Sun, 22 September 2024 at 5:00 AM

I purchased a room with funiture and items.  The room and all items loads as props.  I want to use the room turned 90 degrees from what it loads by default. Is there a way to group all of these props for rotation?  I normally go into all 30 or 40 items and assign a new parent like floor. and then rotate it. This just seems like the hard way.  Is there a trick to getting all the objects to to rotate as one object or group?

I could load a null object, assign all the lights to it and just rotate the custom light set, but I want the references aligned with the view (z axis).

thanks for any help,

Check the heirarchy editor to see if everything is already parented to something. (They usually are in the scenario.)

Thanks for the reply.  I did check the Heirarchy Editor and most of the room componenets were parented to the floor.  (I was rotating the wrong floor before, temp on that I added during compositiion. )  THis saved be a bunch of time. (thank you)

The rest of the items in the room were parented to UNIVERSE.  I had to manually reassign each one.  I wish there was a feature or a script to allow you to select many figures/props in a room and change a parameter that applies to all of them, like paraent. Seems like a script that I have heard of somewhere.
