This question must have come up countless times on this forum but I cannot find any info on how to do it.

I have bought the morphs for M4 from DAZ but it will not install on the download. So I have downloaded them to my HD.  What do I do next to install into the right folders ? I cannot find a simple  directions on DAZ and I am afraid of putting them in the wrong place and causing other problems.

Do I just drop the files into matching folders on DAZ runtime ?

Thanks for your time and patience.

Wont work if you installed it for studio.

Up to genesis carrara used the Poser runtime configuretion, not the Studio content configuration. Carrara can't read studio files previous to genesis; file formats previos to DUF.

Now it used to be mil 4 figures had to be installed in the same folder as your Poser exe was. Installing it the studio "my library" folder may have solved this, but if you install in studio format carrara wont be able to read the studio mat files for skinning the character.

{note: the easy quick fix was just to create a new folder then name it Poser.exe}

This is more of a carrara question then a studio one. But hey, you might get lucky and have it work with no issues. None the less if you intend to use DAZ and other content in carrara it doesn't work the same as it does in Studio.

Generation 4 figures can be installed anywhere you want with the exception of the usual protected folders in Windows [Program Files and Program Files (x86)]  Their morphs must be installed to the same folder the base figures are.  It is then just a matter of pointing the program to them.

Thanks everybody for the help,

I am trying to get a handle on runtime and the file system. Until I can ask more pertinent questions, I won't take up your time. I suppose you have all put you time in trying to get a handle on this problem - it is time I did the same.

Thanks again,
