Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 17 1:08 pm)
Funny enough, I sent Roxie a message this morning, told her about vilters' mood swing. She said not to worry, just leave it with her, she knows exactly how to deal with vilters and asked me to post this:
Hey Tony, so you think you're gonna drop me from your development cycle?
Yeah right, listen, you know me by now, you can't just drop me like that. I mean it's not like I'm trying to blackmail you or anything (as if Roxie would do that), but if you stop my wardrobe, I'll tell everyone you make me do dirty poses in the viewport when you're fitting me up for new clothes.
Take no notice of pumeco, he might have ZBrush but he can't model for shit.
Stop whining and get on with my rags!
Later,
Rox
Yeah, that was a fun fitting session, must admit, and a cool result!
Not sure if I'll be seeing any more of vilters though, he's gone really quiet, hasn't even loaded me up for a fitting session today, not once. If I find out he's been fitting-out Victoria instead, there will be hell to pay, no kidding!!!
You guys basically need to chill so here's my favourite chill-track:

Yeah I know, my taste in music really "Rox", just like me!
Just makes everything better again.

I don't mind passing stuff on for you, Roxie, but dammit I'm changing my password, I didn't even know about that last post!!!
"Waste of time, I have a custom-built keylogger on your system and I've rigged it up to transmit to my Runtime. I've linked each character of your password to a pose dial, so all I have to do is decode the result, I just watch those dials spin as you type it in, baby!
I can use your account whenever I feel like it.
I'm always one step ahead of you, get used to it, you're only human after all."
Later,
Rox"
Ah crap ...
I think she'll like that outfit. The only thing I'd be suspicious of is the fact that Roxie even does ballet. If she does ballet then I reckon she only does it to tease men. She's disappeared a few times and said it was only to kill-off a few more Vickies, but it I think I know where she's going now.
Ballet lessons.
Looks good, Clarkie, and it goes with out saying, would be cool to see some poses with it!
You should see what is in the pipeline for Roxie AND Rex!
I discovered some "special" in the Fitting room & Weight Mapping last night.
This "discovery" IS a game changer for content creators and it will clearly be visible in the next sets for both Rex and Roxie.
They are teaming up to fight the new intruder.

Glad to see you back. I'm sure Roxie is as well. I figured you would be unable to resist her charms. :D
Looks like very nice work, indeed. And as I said in another thread, you and EClarke are gonna make me buy Poser 10 just so I can really enjoy all this great work you guys are doing.

It says a lot about the community's abilities, though, that I might consider it possible, even for just a moment, that it was a render. :)
You're right. She'd make a great character for Roxie.

Tutu and skirt always is good.
Just a note though - ribbons should be tied at the ankles. Those are much too high.
Dammit! I know happened too. When I looked at the images for reference, the Feet were extended, so the looked higher than they actually were. Thanks for the catch, although now I got go back and fix the damn things. Although I may only be able to supply the skirt. I can't seem to get the tutu right to save my life.
Is it the shaders that's the problem for the tutu? I've used Parrotdolphin's shear materials from the Medieval set before now for tutu layers and that's come out quite well. You need something that looks like fine net curtain, not too transparent.
I think it's all looking good though - even though I don't have Roxie to use it :(
You Got Miki 4?Although I have to fix that same ankle tie on her shoes, too.
Ooooh! That sounds interesting...... Miki4 I have. The poor girl keeps bugging me to buy her a XD licence so she can steal V4's ballet stuff, but it hasn't happened yet
She really needs her own pointe shoes. Converting them and then trying to get the converted shoes to pose anything like realistically is a pain.
Blender and Poser , WHAT a combination.
It took a long time to build for Roxie, but when finished, it took no more then 10 minutes to adapt it to this figure.

Any more requests before I start the next set?
As most have seen, all my sets are "one click Drag-Drop-autoconform on the figure" end user solutions, including shoes or boots.
Happy Posering,

Not mine though. I have nothing against the one click drag and drop and for newbies, it's probably preferable. But I like to change out things sometimes. This skirt with that blouse and those shoes.
TIP : and User guide.
All my sets are as end user friendly as pssible, but?
Example : an end user only wants the boots from the forestwalker set. (Or any other of my sets.)
Using only Blender and Poser, that is a 4 minute Job.
Load the Forestwalker in Blender. (File Import object file)
Click edit, click => Remove double vertices. => Blender 2.7
Select everythng, exept the boots and click delete vertices.
You have both boots.
Export object file.
Open Poser
Load Roxie
Import object file => Import the boots.
Goto fitting room (or setup room)
Click create figure
Select hip, both thigh, both shin, both feet, both toe's.
Create and give a name for the boots.
Save to library, done.
Takes longer to type it all down here then it does to do.
If anybody wants a detailed instruction, I will write one with all Blender import and export optons. => that is the only tricky part. Set Blenders import and export options.
Want to extract any other clothign from one of my sets?
Exactly same procedure.
4 to 7 minutes at the MOST !

Well, have to say I hand it to both of you, seriously, I really don't know how you cope with the issues working with the Poser figures, I really don't.
I decided literally just now to drop the whole thing. I just noticed even Vicky doesn't work properly in Poser Mirroring so the problems are down to Poser as well as the Poser figures, in other words, it's never going to work properly.
Screw it.
Keep up the good work, you both have way more patience with this stuff than I do!
@ pumeco
That is actually VERY simple.
Few native Poser figures are symmetrical. (Rex and Roxie being the only ones I know of.)
Not all Poser figures are fully welded. Posette, Sydney, even Lo Res Alyson have welding problems.
Morph brush Symmetry ONLY works when the figure is in its "T" pose.
But this last statement depends on a LOT of things, so play it safe and use it ONLY when the figures are in their FULL ZERO DEFAULT "T" Pose.
I never use a "V" or Dawn, so forgive me for not knowing how they behave (or not).
Do you object file work in Blender. (Morphing, sculpting, do NOT add or delete any vertex, or you can start over.) => Do not forget to set the "X" Mirror for both, edit and sculpt, before starting. LOL.
Then use a fresh cr2, and set the 2 lines to point to your new object file.
Or load YOUR modified object file from Blender as a FBM in PoserPro.

Cheers Vilters, but that's the thing, the whole idea of having the Morph Brush inside of Poser is so that you can create morphs while posed, that's what they said it can do.
Fact is, it can't, not without issues and that's why I'm screwed. I wanted to work on a character for Roxie and I wanted to include better Advanced Body Controls. I can't though, because Mirroing is screwed and leaves out random vertices so that means the resulting character would not be symmetrical if I had to correct it all manually.
Anyway, I appreciate the tip but don't let me derail the thread again. I'll take another look at Poser on the next release, but for now I'll have to leave it.
Build a tread, load is with screengrabs to show what is happening, or send some files over for me to look at.

Rex and Roxie are the only symmetrical and fully welded Poser figures, and should have the least of problems of the lot otut here.
PS, yes, I am in Belgium LOL.
And with Rex and Roxie I personally have not seen vertex being left behind.
So I am VERY interested to see it.

@ pumeco a tip.
Ok, you want to build correction morphs for a bend.
Try the following.
Load Roxie
Click figure => ZERO Roxie
This step is MANDATORY => To ZERO Roxie (or any other figure) BEFORE doing anything else.
Pose the items you want to correct on one side.
Right click on Roxie, => Symmetry, and build a symmetry (mirror) to the other side.
Now you have a symmetrical but posed Roxie in her true ZERO (X,Y,Z) position.
Now open the morph brush and "paint" your new morph.
Then click => Mirror to the other side.
That should work.

Yep. The interview (and her continuing dialogue with you). You're really giving her quite a character. Edit: I mean, she's really decided to reveal her character to you (you charmer, you!). It's certainly entertaining.
Vilters and Clark are doing a great job. They just have to not let people's philosophical disagreements or criticisms get them down. I certainly don't agree with everything they say (me and vilters have been on opposites sides of some issues for a long time), but when I see someone do something good, I figure it's silly to be silent.
