Subject: Really dislike new store design

Color choice and icon size/spacing... wow... First off, in love with this background color scheme? No.... not at all.  Secondly, wasting such space on the sides of the page... It looks like this is designed by the people who did Gamespot's background advertising splash pages (they would fill the left and right edges normally) circa 2007. Third, does anyone do any research on color choices and eye strain at all? As a place you want visitors to shop and hang around, these are really bad choices and give some serious eye strain after lengthy periods of time... Serious missteps. All I can say is disappointed....

I will bring this up to our programmers.

Thanks!

It's the same layout as the FreeStuff layout that never got fixed.  So don't expect this to ever be fixed.

hi,

I conclude on the first speaker.
my short statement to the new webpagedesign

  • dark text on dark background (prices) are not very ergonomic.
a bright background with dark font is in my eyes better (old style)
  • different image sizes make me "nervous" by viewing the website

Productpage:

  • ! the dealer link is not by the summary (like the add to cart button)
but at the top (producttitle), so i must scroll up and down because
      of the product image 8-(

    Wishlist:
  • i miss also the old function to "sort" by vendor in my wishlist.
  • it would by nice to sort by prime products in the wishlist

Order detailpage

  • on the order detailpage the product page is too close to the files to download.
a clear distance between the links would be desirable, for example
produkt page link       |     zip link1
                                    |     zip link2
  • it would also be nice to see which files i had downloaded yet

hej då
Günter

Thank you KimberlyC. Also a lot of product editorials don't load at all. Sales pages seem very slow. Am using Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.  Have been informed by friends that due to very large icons, the pages only display 2 items wide when viewed by tablets. I do like that the website shows Product Purchased when examining (or trying to cart) items accidentally. Apologies if my first critic came off as harsh. Website was very hard on the eyes (as someone who works with computers all day).

When in the "What's New" part of the store, it's just... Ugly now... Two products across on  each row? Really? Eepscially with the first four items (not rows) being "Sponsored products"... It's just really ugly and is going to make new product releases get buried even faster...  Please consider going back to having at least four products across in each row...

At first, I thought you were trying to cater more to mobile users, but I loaded the "What's New" section on a Kindle Fire HDX 7" and it even looks like garbage on there.  I have no way to show a screen capture of how it looked on there, but you should know, it's only shows on product across per row on it. :( I don't use mobile to shop, and never would, but yuck!  It's really awful, even so...

The new store design really, really sucks ass.

Who was the chucklehead that thought not testing this was a good idea?

What idiot thought green text on a grey background was a good idea?

What moran thought that having multiple .png sizes was a good idea?

I don't have to shop here - after all, it isn't like most of the contnet here is new, or interesting.

Big problem I just noticed. When checking if items have updated (under My Account) you normally click on the updated button. The page would usually show from most recent dates of items updated. Now it shows from olderest. The problem is there is no way to pick last. You have to load each page. As a customer who's probably funded a ton of Renderosity, and has been a member for quite some time I have a huge number of purchase pages. I'm embarrassed by how many.  I would have to click through over a thousand pages (Staff check to see I'm understating here) to look at most recent items updated. A return of the option to go to the last page would be ideal. Also the store search box (when on the standard new items page) is way too tiny. It's about 5 character letters wide. There's no reason (there's even extra space there) for it to be so small. You can't type the name of an item and see it without clicking in the box and moving your cursor. That's really a horrible mistake in design.

Interesting enough, the search box is fine from the forums. But from product pages, and New Items you can only see this much of the word Search (see below).

Searc

Might attach a pic later if this is needed to be seen...

It would also be nice to sort "Gifts Given" and "Gifts Recieved" by dates. I have quite a few items in both sections in my account.  Sometimes my brain needs a refresher, and i have to look in there for one reason or another. Right now, it seems to go from oldest-newest with no way of sorting... That's lots of scrolling... It was almost preferable the way it was before with one long list. With one long list, a person could always use Ctrl + For "Find" if you knew the approximate product name of what you were looking for...

Gah...  :(   thanks for the heads up... haven't even looked there... kind of afraid to look now for more problems through various account pages...

Okay, on the item page list there's an updated radio button. Problem is it says more than 50 (first page) items updated on two different days. This is going to be a huge issue in redownling if it's true. I'm going to wait and try to contact staff.

Okay, not thousands of pages... big overstatement. Still... thousand of items.... I sent an email to the store admin asking if it were an error or not, hope to hear back. Flink and MRL seemingly updated every item as well as several other vendors. Hopefully I'm wrong. I only checked the first page (no one wants to see they have to re download over a hundred items).

Yikes, I hope not. :(  I haven't looked at  the update dates, and I'm scared to now. LOL

Anybody see a way to sort the wishlist via vendor like we used to be able to? I always found that helpful during sales.

So far no word. The last time I saw an update was about a week ago. It's possible several vendors decided to update all their products, but no emails from them yet either. It's over 50 items of downloads, with 30 on the day of the  website change, the remainder the day before and after....

We are still making changes (from our members) to the marketplace. Please bear with us while we work out the bugs.

Also, those of you that made a suggestion I have noted it. Thanks :)

Thank you KimberlyC. I've heard from Jennifer about the product updates and it turns out that was a glitch. Thankfully I didn't start downloading the over 50 items again... :)

On the new item page in the market place, looks like the search bar size is very, very nice now. Still appears as imaged above on idividual item pages though... still small and showing only Searc
