Subject: Links Not working

mapps ( ) posted Wed, 09 July 2014 at 10:56 AM · edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 10:39 PM

It has come to my alttention that after the most recient update that the vast majority of my freebies will not download.

Many of my freebies are over the original max file size so they let the links stand to my site. The links are all still good, I double checked but if you clike the download button it does not work. If you click the manual download "click here" it come up file not found but if you copy and paste the "not found" link into your browser it downloads fine. i do see that the max zip size has been increased so most of my sets could be upload them to rosity, but I don't know when I would get time to download the majority of 4 pages of freebies off my site and then repload them to rosity.

Is the a fix to just make them work again?

Yesterday I noticed that if I clicked the link instead of waiting 5 seconds, that it did not work. (got an xml error) If I waited it worked...

Well I have trided a few times and have been contacted by more then one person having trouble downloading who must be clicking the "Click Here" buttons. You are right, if you wait it will start on it's own. I guess most folks don't like to wait :-)

I guess there is something wrong with the "Click here" buttons

I just tried both ways and they seem to download ok for me.  Give me a few of the links you are experiencing this and let me see if it is specific to those products.

What browser are you currently using?

It looks like the "Click Here" link is being created incorrectly by trying to redirect it through the Amazon server, which is obviously not going to work, as the file is off-site. So you get this URL from the link:

https://bw-1651cf0d2f737d7adeab84d339dbabd3-freestuff.s3.amazonaws.com/http%3A/webzoom.freewebs.com/mapps/FLS2-SST.zip?AWSAccessKeyId=0M0V7HYQVC2XCPNWY102&Expires=1404971714&Signature=%2BybsjnnxUV9SLOTDN%2FgOvEWWIac%3D

Red = erroneous Amazon link code

Orange = truncated "http://"

White = Actual URL

as opposed to the correct link, which is:

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/mapps/FLS2-SST.zip

I get the same reaction with Chrome...click=error/wait=download TinaK

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

They all download fine if you wait normally, but if you click on "Click Here" then it errors out. This happened for me in IE 10, and the newest versions of Firefox and Chrome.
