Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 22 8:51 pm)
Some users change the material zones when they do not need twenty copies of the same
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I do not understand your answer bagginsbill , but honestly I would like simple answers that do not involve advanced knowledge, perhaps some simple script that someone has written with this "Mega hiper BASIC" function
spend $ 15 to do this??? and if you got poser 2014 , 9 dollars more = 24 dollars for a function that existed in windows 3.1 ???
Select All;
Copy;
Select the new zone;
Select All;
Paste;
doesn't work for you?

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."Use the group tool. Assign skin head material to all the other polygons. They do not need to be in different groups.

I know the tool group dimly but do not use it often, I'll see how it works but honestly what I look for is something easier simple and direct copy, select multiple areas of materials and apply, do not understand how an application the size of Poser not you can make this simple and easy action
Quote - I do not understand how would the steps , how I select and copy an area of material (not want anything change) and stick it in the other 5
Select the material from the drop down list (top right), then tick the material zones in the 'Copy Shader' list to which which you want to copy the shader. Press the Copy button.
Quote - is there any tutorial or guide to read how EZMat's work?
It is being worked on right now ...
Free stuff @ https://poser.cobrablade.net/
Quote - Netherwork's Matwriter panel on RuntimeDNA allows you copy settings from one material zone to multiple zones via copy/paste. And yes, this feature is sorely needed in Poser; it becomes obvious when you have to do more than 20 material files for a product.
Netherwork's Matwriter panel cost 15 dollars for P2012 and 24 dollars for P2014, I not think paying a single dollar for a function that should be included Native in Poser (and quite expensive I came out the software for not including such a basic thing)

Ok Snarlygribbly, I will downloaded the EZMat and test what you tell me ,if it works well I promise do a mini tutorial to make this basic action would save us, Poser user, so much time...
Thank you very much to all who have answered my question, are very helpful for me....

I understand your frustration. There are a lot of areas of Poser that could be made much easier. I think it's because of Posers age and the fact it's built on old code. Newer software tends to start with the current best practices and build from there.
I'd love to see the next version of Poser with zero new whiz bang features but an emphasis on stability and integration of many of the free and paid utilities that most of us couldn't live without.

Yes , it's true, you have a good point false1 , but beyond the "old code" is like that for years from now the people of runtimedna lost the motivation to continue to improve, last vercions , like you said , came with many features that most of us will not use them ever
The major improvements "useful" came from people outside runtimedna (colorcurvature, Snarlygribbly etc ...)
Perhaps it is time to give the management of the company in the hands of new people with new ideas and push more because the decrease in Poser users in these last years has been big and is a real shame

Well they are beta testing a new
"game Development" version
of poser pro that will export figures/assets to game engines so they will have include some sort of "bake textures to single map" feature.
it wont be free though.
Quote - 3-then go to the pose tab and with the body of V4 selected we run the mathelper
click in areas where we want the texture to be copied to modify , and then click "copy"
Note that there is also an option to keep the texture maps. This means that the shader is copied but if it can find a diffuse/tranparency/specular/displacement etc. map in the destination material then it will use that map instead of the one in the source material.

Yes , I saw that, like everything you do, is a very useful tool for me, maybe I confused at first having to leave the material tab and select the body to showing areas of materials , but after you get used.
now i will proves install ezmat and I'll see how it works.
thank you very much for all the help

How Copy single materials and paste across multiple materials free ?
Please , can someone tell me how to do this basic action , a function that exists in any program made by a kid but not in "Poser Hiper Pro 2010 2012 2014 " honestly still can not believe it , copy one material at a time, is like a bad joke
someone told to Poser programmers that the models share the same maps in different areas?
thanks in advance
