Subject: Stop objects being highlighted

madmitch ( ) posted Mon, 15 December 2014 at 10:38 AM · edited Fri, 13 December 2024 at 3:49 PM

Is there any way of temporarily stopping background objects being highlighted in orange when the cursor moves over them?  I find it very distracting when posing a foreground figure. I am using DAZ 4.7

Ahh, no. That is done on purpose so you know which object the pointer is on to select. If you turned it off you wouldn't be able to tell if the pointer is on the object you want to select. You can always select the body part to pose in the figure tree in the scene menu and not use the pointer.

Go to the Tool Settings pane (Window>Panes(Tabs)>Tool Settings) and in the Node Highlighting group set Draw Style to Bounding Box only.

Ahh, thank you.  I find it useful only for a small amount of time.  When I'm rigging, and/or going through a complicated scene with alot of stuff, it gets annoying more so than anything else.

In order to go forward, one must often times look to the past.

Many thanks Richard,

My thanks also, I just made the changes and it is (for me) easier to get around and see things without constantly moving the cursor off screen.

One other thing, you can set the opacity to a level that is less distracting but still lets you see the nodes highlighted.

Thanks, I couldn't see my way around with the highlighting, glad to be rid of it, hurrah!!

Sometimes, I change properties on background props too, this can be useful sometimes ("display" menu on props/figures, you can set display off for any items getting in the way with highlight).

...Oops, I mean "selectable" option, in the display menu :)
