Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 17 1:08 pm)
Thanks Dr Geep.
The dress is here in freestuff : http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?item_id=74719
The dress and skirt are UV-Mapped so end users can texture them at will. There are tons of free texture sites around.
And using the shaders I posted here above, you can duplicate the leather look alikes. LOL.
These "drag-drop-dressed" series are meant to be as end user friendly as possible, increasing their usability all over.
The only thing not included is the hair. LOL.
Some outfits come with boots, some with shoes or slippers.
Some are "normal wear" some are "themed" versions.
Have fun using Poser, best regards, Tony

Whaw, Roxie "grew" a lot in your nice render. LOL. Nice shaderwork also.
So basically you'd like the outfits without shoes-boots.
**Several options:
**
In the cloth room set the shoes as constrained and they'll stay in place.
Or "hide" the shoes in the renders and use other footwear.
Or open the outfit in Blender, remove the shoes, remover the groups, remove the double vertex leftovers from the groups, and save the dress as a single grouped dress obj for use in the cloth room.
Basically, clothing outfits without the shoes-boots is preferred then?
Well, next complaint will be why Roxie has so few shoes-boots. LOL.
Sugestions are welcome: Seperate footwear?
Perhaps I"ll release a free footwear package. Browe through my free stuff here and => Sugestions?
Other sugestions? Outfits someone 'd like to see build?
Best regards, thanks for the render, Tony

Ha-ha-ha- LOL, kinda funny actually.
I spend lots of hrs Weight- and Bulge mapping the thing, and ha-ha-ha- it ends up dynamic. LOL.
Well, it shows what can be done with a sound object file.

Quote : " Whaw, Roxie "grew" a lot in your nice render ".
Dynamic cloth reacts much better to stretching than to shrinking. I only used the "voluptuous" morph if you want her to look like that.
The problem with making the shoes of this particular dress invisible is that they share the same material zone as the "dress" part. Only the soles have a separate material zone.
If you modify it in other software you may end up redoing the whole item to keep it "cloth room friendly".
My suggestion would be that you continue to release the "all-in" clothing as conforming items and provide the parts that are suitable for the cloth room as separate pp2 props too
Even stretching has its limits ...
.
Oeps, a nipple slip.!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
Thanks for using my free stuff.
It is the best motivation a builder can get. => To see his items being used.
Good expression on the face too.
For the shoes; Set the feet and toes to invisible in their properties palette if you want to use other footwear.
The idea behind the drag&drop&dressed series was : Nobody uses the native Poser figures. Nothing is available for them.
So I wanted to offer complete outfits, as end user render friendly as possible.
But there are so few native Poser figure clothing builders. . . . .
As soon as my PC's are reconfigured and up and running again, I"ll see what I can do.
Best regards, Tony

Oh, another option I forgot.
You can use the grouping tool in Poser.
Select all groups (except the feet and toe groups) and export as a prop.
You will have a single grouped obj file, only containing the dress, ready for use in the cloth room.
Ach, sometimes Poser can be so flexible in its endless possibilities.

*So? You realy like my dress, Yeah? Or, ha-ha-ha-, you like what's in the dress.....
Well, as I said : You can use the grouping tool to extract my dress from the outfit into a single grouped obj file for cloth room use.
I"ll ask Tony to build some more, and you know he takes sugestions?
*PS, buy the girl a GPS. LOL.
HEy!!!!!!!!!! That's a Belgian license plate !!!

Too easy, there a hundreds if not thousands of bathing suits an bikinis out there.
Perhaps in combination of something more challenging.
Grrr2 . . . How am I gonna keep her "assets" inside. LOL. I"ll add some double sided tape, or some superglue to the set. LOL.
Yep, I know the city now. I have a girlfriend livng there. Visited december 20, 2014.

A real challenge .... maybe you are old enough to remember this :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJYCQiikrL8
It' about the main character's costume : the bodysuit should not be a problem, we don't need real zippers, though it needs UV-mapping for the different colours. The real challenge is the mask.
Below is a bad picture of DE KAT. I should have more (books and dvd) but can't search for it at this moment.
Ha-ha-
Oeps, that is an older outfit. LOL.
Hey, did you find the trick to make my outfits dynamic?
It is dead easy you know.
I"ll write it down here this evening, when I am behind my Poser PC again.
Oh?
And to get a better "fit" use the "Push to shape" in the cloth room. Know that one?
I wrote a tutorial about the cloth room "push to shape" or "push to fit" back in 2006.

I convert clothes to dynamic all the time. If the mesh is continuous it is as easy as Darth said, simply weld it on import.
This is one of vilters. I cropped off the shoes by exporting it first without them, then welded on re imported
Some things are easy to explain, other things are not........ <- Store -> <-Freebies->
Yes, the trick is to load the dress via the cr2.
Start with an empty scene and load the dress with the cr2.
ZERO the dress with Figure Zero Figure.
Then ; File Export wavefront object file , and select ONLY the groups you want to keep, (unselect the feet and toe groups), and ONLY select Weld body part seams in the export options.
Give your obj file a new name.
Clear the scene.
Import your object file with only Weld identical vertices selected, and you are ready for the cloth room.

The "push to fit" is not a button but a cloth room tips and tricks procedure.
Unfortunately the tutorial seems lost with the forum changes.
I will have to write it again.
But it is proepsimple. LOL.

I guess almost nobody understood the first part of that last word "proepsimple". I'm not gonna explain it to them.
That "push to fit" method must be similar to "shrink wrap".
Ah, those dissapearing threads ! I once wrote a nice review about the different cabin types of the Skoda 706 from Hruska, pictures included. All gone. But I guess nobody knows what I am talking about either.

Playing with my Roxie-Dressed outfit available here in freestuff, I noticed that the default Roxie skin (left) is too saturated too "matte".
So I made a new skin shader using the same default Roxie Textures. (Middle and right figure)
Hope you like it.
The HSV node : This desaturates the default Roxie texture to 0.9 and increases value to 1.1
Displacement : Is a Blender node that Blends some Turbulence with a Black and White inverted grey scale image coming from the diffuse texture through a Math-Functions node.
This gives more displacement in dark area's like brows, and less displacement in paler area's.
Alternate specular : Is a Blinn node using a Blender to mix some Turbulence with the Diffuse texture to create the Blinn/Specular.
Here again, using the texture in the Reflectivity channel to get less specular in dark area's like the brows.
Hope you like, Tony
Displacement is a Blendefe
