Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 02 11:49 pm)
Not a big Gimp user so my knowledge is limited, but after you create a jpg of the symbol, you can use poser's material room to put it on the outfit. Normally you use the outfit's UV template. Here's a free tutorial (you have to join to download it but joining is free) by Mia 3D Design on ShareCG. There are also some tutorials here and at Deviant Art too.

This makes the file to point to the texture. A good text editor for this is either PhilC's PZ Editor, or the wonderful free Notepad++

I did a Supergirl outfit for V4 years ago and tried to offer it as a freebie here, but they wouldn't host it because of copyright issues with the name / symbol etc.
But oddly, the promo image I put in the gallery is still there.

Warner Bros., which is owned by AOL Time Warner will sue you to hell and back if you so much as LOOK at one of it's properties wrong. The only company that's more aggressive is Disney. They usually don't bother with fan fiction and images though, as long as it's not pornographic or commercial in nature. Disney, as I said, though is more aggressive. They have lawyers whose sole job is to sue people or serve cease and desist orders.
Now with the new Supergirl tv show I'm certain Warner Bros. is going to be more vigilant too. I think Time Warner spun off AOL. I seem to recall having read that someone like Verizon is thinking about purchasing AOL. After quick check, yep, done deal as of yesterday. Verizon owns AOL.
*steps on soap box
Even though Verizon is telecommunications and makes no programs, and should be working on installing fiber which it isn't and is currently being sued by cities for breaking their contracts for 10 years. Trying to give Comcast a run for worst company of the year (really, look it up about Comcast).
*steps off soap box runs off and hides from approaching attorneys. :)
*edited for misspelling of multiple attorneys

Hello,
I wasn't really sure what forum to post this under (Texturing,Photoshop, etc) but chose Poser because ultimately this for a V4 clothing item that I am going to use in Poser.
So, I want to got about creating a latex texture with the Supergirl symbol on it for a V4 top, but am not to sure where to start. I don't have Photoshop but I do have GIMP. Also, I have access to a texture template for the top I am creating the texture for along with a jpg of the Superman symbol on its own.
I have tried searching through Renderosity forums and Google to try to find out how you go about making poser textures for V4 clothing but haven't had any luck in finding anything related to what I'm looking for.
My knowledge of GIMP is very limited, as I mostly use it for creating thumbnails for my renders, but I want to learn more. If anyone could point me in the direction of documents or tutorials I could read that would help I would greatly appreciate it. Even if the info is meant for a program like Photoshop I can probably figure out how to modify it for GIMP.
Thank you very much for your time and advice.
Sincerely,
From2004
