The card that you plugged into your monitor would be the one use use with the DS and other apps. So if you want to use the better card with iray only, that should not be connected to a monitor; the old video card should be the one used. You could look at your screen set up (right click on your desktop I believe); that may say which card you have connected, if not, you'll have to ask the person that installed it (if you didn't) which card connected to the monitor.

Hi, I have basically no hardware skills. I just upgraded to the GTX 980 Ti, The tech people at the store did the install for me. I got a bigger power supply and case so all seems to be well. I haven't done a render yet . I want to have a setup like Male_M3dia talked about in this thread. https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2897671
I had them leave my original video card in so I could have DS rendering on the GTX 980 Ti and go on the web with the other card. When I go into the NVIDIA panel I only see the GTX 980 Ti. Does Ds recognize it automatically or do I have to "add" it to the programs in the NVIDIA panel? Also, I do not see the other card in the NVIDIA panel. Any advice on setting it up properly in the NVIDIA panel is much appreciated. Cheerio lululee
