Subject: Messing With V4 Morphs... (Talking Genitals)

Glen ( ) posted Sat, 02 April 2016 at 8:55 AM · edited Tue, 04 February 2025 at 11:03 AM

Hi folks,

I've been pulling my hair out. Basically, I have V4 with hundreds of morphs and Lali's bits, which I have generally used to great success. I have always been somewhat disheartened by the clitoral hood area of Lali's Bits though, until recently.

I made a character with really quite realistic looking genitals using Lali's Bits. I managed to get the hood area of V4's hip to replace that of the genital prop, making for a much more aesthetically pleasing result.

The thing is, I don't know how it has happened! I know what tweaks and adjustments I made and I have made all of these on another character, but the results are entirely different. I'm talking chalk and cheese! There's no sneaky genital crease morph in the hip, the scaling and heights are the same and all of the Erogenesis morphs are precisely the same, however, one looks awesome and the other looks ugly.

I'm wondering how I can go about basically saving my character's morphs as a full body morph, excluding the genitals, and applying this full body morph to the character whose genital area is what I want. Could someone advise, please?

I'm sure I've missed something, I don't know, it's really annoying me and, as absolutely awesome as Lali's bits are, there are soooo many morphs involved, on top of all those I've put in myself (short toes, belly roll, real hands, feet, knuckles etc, and so on, blah blah blah), that it's really difficult to keep track.

Basically, I want to take the hip of one and wedge it into the other. I know that's impossible, but something like that would be good.

Thanks,

Glen.

Ok, rant time!

Poser SERIOUSLY needs individual vertex manipulation! The morph brush is absolutely fucking shit at this! I've been trying, for FOUR FUCKING HOURS, to move ONE VERTEX around four millimetres to one side and I've failed on every single attempt! Not only that, but I should be able to set the wireframe colour of individual objects so that I can tell them apart from each other when in the wireframe view, instead of it being a huge blerge of grey fucking lines!

If I could export everything to AC3D and then import it all and have it all work without pissing about for countless hours, I could have achieved this in a couple of minutes! It's such a fucking simple thing, it's so common in 3D software, WTF is going on?! Why the hell is it not featured in Poser?

I've seriously raged at this, it has been the biggest headache I've ever had with 3D character design! So simple, yet so impossible!

Incorporate all the special features you like into the morph brush, but unless I can click on a vertex and manipulate it along the X, Y and Z axes, it'll be shit!

Rant over. Starting again from scratch. AGAIN!

Really, how do you really feel? 😺 I too have found the morph brush exasperatingly bad at moving small bits of mesh.

The title of the thread reminded me of an old joke, since I've never heard them talk: 😼

Q: "Do you smoke after sex?"

A: "I don't know; I've never looked."

ANYWAY As far as your FBM goes; If you have Poser Pro it's not too hard, as long as you haven't done any scaling.. Make a backup of your scene with your tweaked figure. Open up the Joint editor window, and click on the Zero Rotations button (so you don't export any JCMs). go to Figure> Create Full Body Morph and give it a name. Figure>Zero figure will reset everything, then dial in the FBM dial you just made in the Body actor to 1.0. Export V4 as an .obj file making sure not to export anything else, like the extra prop or the ground. Settings are:

Uncheck Weld Body Part Seams

Check As Morph Target

Check Include Body Part Names in Polygon Groups

Check Use Exact Internal Names Except Spaces

Uncheck everything else.

Then load a new Lali, Figure>Load Full Body Morph (this is where Poser Pro comes in!) Browse to that exported .obj, and give it a name. Dial it to 1.0 in the body actor and you should be good. Save this modified figure to the Figures Library for future use. You can than apply whate ever character you want to this fised one. If you have a dialed character you want to apply to this, save it as a pose with Morph Channels checked, and load this pose onto the saved one...

Ran out of time to finish my edit; Now that I've typed all of this, I realized that you likely only modified the hip actor, so you could just export the hip actor as above, and create the morph dial in the new figure by selecting the hip and Object>Load Morph Target..

Lol, that joke made me laugh! Thank you for your help, I will copy and paste it to a document so I can refer back to it in future, however, through all of my frustrations and over hours of raging, I think I finally got it to work for me. I'm glad I'm not the only one who realises this problem with Poser.

Thank you. :)

I've had some luck moving individual vertices with the Morph Brush, using the Pull tool with a small brush size and Magnitude reduced almost to zero. Another approach might be to use weight-mapped magnets. Paint the weights to affect only the desired vertices, then move the magnets using the dials or numeric inputs. That should allow more control.

I actually came in here prepared to muse about that Seinfeld episode where Jerry angers his girlfriend after imagining her navel could talk. I always assumed the talking navel was a sanitized version of an original story premise involving talking genitals. So. I guess I said that, now. Umm.

Okay, third answer. Talking genitals say, "If I ran the zoo, underpants would be worn on the head!"

Umm. Perhaps Cage should be done posting for today. Ahem.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

...And then there's the colloquial British phrase which means someone is saying silly things, "Talking bollocks".

For those of you who are unfamiliar with British vernacular, "bollocks" is a widely used term for testicles. Just to confuse matters, "The dog's bollocks", or just "the bollocks" can mean something is very good indeed. If, however, you were to reply to somebody's statement with a simple "Bollocks", that would be a dismissive refutal of what they had just said.

It can also be used in the same way as "Balls" or "Ballsy", to describe something powerful, forceful or generally pretty good. But then, "A load of bollocks" is exactly the opposite, ie, no use at all,

Ah, the illogical delights of language - all great fun. There's also "cobblers" as in "a load of old cobblers". I could think of more; you put temptation in one's way ... but it would be hijacking. Great fun.

Never had much luck with duplicating body morphs and shapes from one figure to another but then again I am NOT the sharpest nail in the bag when it comes to what i bleieve to be more complex Poser functions. To get around it all, I set up one figure and inject all the base morphs for example a base figure with the Perfect base function and then add all the Perfect morphs and then all the V4 and v4++ morphs and genital morphs, etc. I save her back in the library as a base figure. As needed i call her up and do the dial spin magic or add other character morphs to her. Once I get my best character i sometimes remove the morphs i do NOT need for her to reduce the size of the file and save her with all her glorious character adjustments (in your case the winning Lali Bits morphs you love) and re-save her complete as my new complete Named character, into my library so I can call her up as needed. This way if LaliBits is "perfect" for my needs it will be perfect ll the time no matter how i might change the character's looks, etc. I know it is time consuming but in the end i love the ease with which i can call up what I need ALL THE TIME duplicating that perfect "look" to all her bits.

HahaHa!! Wait....Gentials talking to each other?....you have more than one?

There is a scifi story I believe is called TEETH and yes it is exactly what you suspect...interesting little tale....about a vaginal dentata. Scary to think of the possibilities and maybe the church set us up for this urban myth and maybe that is why so many guys without experience are afraid of getting too "close and personal" In her face kinda thing at first but worth a look. I guess if it has teeth it must talk too...no!? if a woman calls her breasts "her girls" what does she call "That" if it talks to her...I wonder. And if it has teeth.......hmmmm!!!!!????

Strange coincidence there's a thread about talking genitals and a thread about presidential candidates on the same page.

Not to mention any names but I believe at least one of the candidates is an absolute... and another is a complete...

I'll stop there before it becomes a political rant. :D

really v4 60,000 poly count makes her aggravating to work on in any app other then something like zBrush. but zBrush works like posers morph brush so to move one vertice at a time you need a good box modeling app. I know C4D ,LW ,Blender can move one vertice at a time but on a 60,000 polycount mesh it's not advised.

in CGI if your aggravated then your using the wrong tool or mesh.

not enough poly count in that region of V4 anyway to even try to do that sort of thing. Maybe something like Lali's Bits if high enough res'd but I doubt it. Really a talking vag! But there are some nice morphs for the mesh as is so someone did it.

shante what version of poser do u have ?

Diamonds V polycount is around 150 ,that's more then enough for singing n dancing.

V4's polycount is 60,000 cause Poser didn't have SubD's at the time.
