Subject: Blender Node in Poser equal to what in Daz?

DreamlandModels ( ) posted Mon, 25 April 2016 at 12:28 PM · edited Wed, 01 January 2025 at 2:49 PM

Hi Guys,

I am working in the Shader Mixer in Daz Studio and am still learning the equivalent nodes from Poser to the Daz bricks.

I have been able to find a good amount of the bricks for my grass texture which in Poser is like this image.

The ones that are eluding me are as follows and it would be fantastic,

if someone here could tell me Apples to Oranges what it equal to what.

Blender Node in Poser = in Daz

fBm in Poser = in Daz

Also where do I tie in the displacement bricks? It seems to be completely separate from the DS Default Material

Also is the DS Default Material brick the = to the PoserSurface node?

Sorry for the nube questions, but I have a really sever case of Attention Deficit Disorder which is a learning disorder.

Regards, Tom

Blender = Mix (under Mathematical. Alpha is the equivalent of Blending, Base the equivalent of Input 1 and Layer the Equivalent of Input 2.

FBM I'm not sure if there is a direct equivalent, but the enries under textures would be the most likely place to look.

The DS Default Material is optional - it's a single brick that encapsulates the DAZ Default shader, so the settings more-or-less match that. You can however dispense with it and handle your own integration of diffuse, specular, translucency etc. to give final colour and opacity values for the pixel.

Yes, displacement has its own root brick, though bricks can if necessary send output to multiple roots, so you don't need to double-up common elements.

Remember that all of this applies to 3Delight, not Iray.

The product page says "Not tested in Daz Studio". According to the Readme, it contains Poser files, so it should work in Daz Studio too, but it's not guaranteed to.
