Subject: Shiny and /or Sweaty Skin
Hi are you using IRAY or 3DL to render with?
You can play with the glossy settings in both. In IRAY, you can increase the weight of the top coat and add gloss to the top coat and also lower the glossy roughness. A lot depends on the lighting too.
I think it helps to play with the parameters as it is a great way to learn what they do and get more comfortable with them.
With IRAY you can change the drawing mode of the viewport to IRAY and it will show your changes interactively. You can do similarly with 3Delight in the aux viewport. I found both to be very helpful when experimenting with textures and their shader parameters

How do I get the viewport for IRAY to show? Also Where do I find the top coat parameter? I am still finding my way around DAZ Studio! Cheers

Viewport modes are set with the icon (usually a sphere) to the left of the camera/view picker at top-right of the viewport. You can also use ctrl(Win)/cmd(Mac) plus a number key - 0 for nVidia Iray preview, 9 for texture Shaded.
To see the TopCoat parameters you will need to have the Iray Uber Base shader applied - imported geometry and Poser content will use the Daz Default Shader (3Delight) when loaded. The preset for applying the shader to selected surfaces on selected objects is in the Presets tab of the Surfaces pane under Shaders>Iray.

I am dammed if I can find the top coat or Viewport.I have tried everything mentioned but for me it does not work.Any chance of a screen cap? Cheers

I cheat and use N.G.S. Anagenessis - II. I think it really helps skin materials in most cases. But to make the skin glossy/wet/oily I go to the surfaces tab, select the skin, then in the Anagenessis option I select Lip Gloss. Instructions say NOT to select any surfaces, but that is only because it will apply the effect to only that one surface - in this case that is what you want. Sorry if you don't have that product. But I would recommend you get it. I use it on nearly every character now.

Can anyone help me with settings in DAZ Studio 4.9 for Shiny,Sweaty skin? Normally I just purchase textures/mats but I would like to experiment for myself.Also wet skin! Cheers
