Their site has had security issues for years. It's about time they started from scratch with updating their servers for the new year legalese.

I'm hoping that Hotmail won't block their new web servers once they are online again.

Thanks for all the input here, guys. Sorry to hear of the problems. Let's hope things get back to normal soon.

Good to know, Greymom. Thank you.

Worrisome, considering that I have invested a small fortune in VUE Infinite and a lot of content, but have not installed and activated it yet (still have to build the new computer). They are still posting notifications of new art and contests on their FB page, but the only email I am getting from them is reminders that my voucher is about to expire.
The behavior is totally incomprehensible ! This does not create trust.
This is not a good style, not to inform the customers !
This is the worst case that can occur for a web sore, if you can not be online for more than 24 hours.
Maintenance work that is more extensive is usually announced for the customers !
Any company that matters, has high-availability systems, so that does not happen ! There are maintenance contracts for hardware to be back online within a few hours ! There are cluster systems that jump in immediately if something fails. Also during maintenance !
I was going to buy Vue again after years and years absence too, like LaurieA. I want to try it with Mac Os, but now i cant get even an activatiobn key.
They must have a really big, big problem ! !
Hope my gallery there (and account) haven't been erased, like when DAZ lost their servers.

They have 12 years of security updates to do. Plus, a new web framework as well. Then the fun that is data migration.

I post my stuff on this gallery as well as on Cornucopia3D's gallery. And a bunch of other sites.

I had to reinstall my whole computer and now I can't activate my copy of Vue, so I'm back to using Carrara until they get their website fixed.
I'm the same way with a new computer. But when I try to logon to cornucopia3d or e-on software, I get an error about logging on to the (something), but not the "Down for a few hours" that I've been getting for weeks. So maybe they are trying to come back up.
About using Carrara, that is an example of "Don't throw me into that briar patch!"

Haha - thats not something that that you do to production servers. Even if these are some ancient boxes, the first move I would make is to mirror them to a cloud hosted hyper-visor and perform the updates to a copy of the system instance. Down time unnecessary. Besides as of today ALL computers are compromised.

I just tried getting on e-on's website and got this:
Not Found !
You should use the main domain ending in .com
The webmaster"
I had typed e-onsoftware.com into the browser, not it came up as a .net domain instead. Weirdness! But, no front page that says they'll be back in a few hours.
They continue to be quite active on Facebook. They don't want to be down any more than anyone else because it's costing them money every day they're down. It's also ticking off people who have content they're trying to sell via Cornucopia, which is also down. They won't mention why the website is down, but they are assuring people that the issue will be corrected as soon as possible and I would imagine that would also mean extending deadlines for extending licenses, activations, etc.

Thx, wonder if they would answer an email, probably not. Merry Christmas :)
I've been in contact with E-on via Facebook messenger and support via email for the past week to skull-out a texture issue when I import an object from 3ds. They're answering on FB messenger and email.

I am in exactly the same position. I can't believe the way they are treating their loyal customers. I wondered if they were in the process of going under, it's very peculiar behaviour. I have been with them since I bought Vue 4 pro in about 2004 and have upgraded every year since and invested a lot of money in software and assets. Now I am beginning to wish I had gone down the cinema4d path. :(

Hi guys, please mail us at support@e-onsoftware giving your latest inst code and the email you have the account registered on and we will send an activation code. :) Sorry I don't have an official e-on log in here......I am real though. John has been in touch with me! :)
Phew, thank goodness, you had me very worried there for a moment :)

Hello all. Three days ago I replaced my old hard drive with ssd. After installing Win10 and Vue (2014 Studio), I also had a problem with online activation, but I found a "temporary solution": To reinstall (your legal, registered copy) Vue without activation on the e-onsoftware page, first you need to copy the * .key files from the hidden folder: C: \ programdata e-onsoftware. After completing the Vue reinstallation process, all you have to do is restore the old * .key files you have saved. Of course, the new Vue installation must be similar to the previous one - the same version, the same modules. However, in more complicated cases (as bmdesigns wrote) - contact with support is necessary. Good luck.

That, and the French government-controlled Internet probably has some new laws that merchants need to follow first before going online with their new servers.

What's priceless is I had to reinstall windows 10 and when I contacted Vue about reactivating Vue 11 they had the temerity to inquire as to why I am using Vue 11 when I have the very latest Vue activated. I explained that I use skinVue with Vue11 infinite and then afterwards thought about how cheeky they are considering I need to go through this because their site is down and they are taking forever to fix it. I can't believe the shoddy way they are treating customers! Not even an official presence on here.
As long as I am only using it on one computer at a time as far as I am aware I can use Vue 11, 2014, 2015, 2016 or even Vue 5 infinite as much as I want! I can't download the latest Q4 update for 2016 because their site is down.
In the meantime I still haven't got it activated on this computer.

I can imagine the level of frustration you're having there. Did you contact them via phone or email? I've been emailing Barry (BMDesigns) and all has gone well. I'm sure Barry, or Walther, or someone else will be happy to help you (support@e-onsoftware) if you haven't gotten it all straightened out.
I know it's hard to be patient when we're used to things happening "right now" quick though. I believe they want everyone to be happy (or as happy as possible), especially given the unfortunate situation with their servers. Trouble is, from everything I read from those who've commented, folks seem to be happier speculating, thinking the worst, and making inferences rather than just being patient, finding facts, and moving forward.
It's likely no one has yet been given any authority to comment or make statements on the nature of the problem(s) with their website. I have some concerns regarding the situation, what may have happened, and when it will be set right. However, there are bigger things to fret over than this (unless, of course, you depend on this software for business and then it's critical). Not being Pollyanna, just practical. Not trying to diminish anyone's frustration, just trying to be reasonable.
-Cheers!

A whole amazing virtual world went bonkers. So sad. Since I posted my last pic only at Cornucopia3D and now it's somewhere close to nirwana, I'll better post it here as well.
Very, very nice....
My maintenance fee for December was not taken from my credit card. I have had Vue Infinite since its origins but since they went to a maintenance fee approach I stopped at Vue 9. To save some money I went with Vue 2016 Complete plus the maintenance fee. They took the fee out for Sept, Oct and Nov but not for Dec. This is a bad sign. Fortunately all my software has been activated. I've enjoyed reading everyone's post here and wanted to share my experience with the maintenance issue.

The website has been down for a few days. the page says for maintenance and a few hours. they having issues getting things fixed? Seems rather odd to have extended maintenance right before Christmas. Anyone know whats going on? Thx
