Subject: Download issues

Samd ( ) posted Sun, 24 December 2017 at 7:41 PM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 9:56 PM

Hello, have had issues with downloading off your site for a few days. keep getting network errors mid download, two different orders over two days and after literally a dozen attempts got the first order items down. Second order is looking about as bad. having downloaded product from another site with no issues, can only presume its your end.

I understand it may be after boxing day before i get a response. But would like a resolution as soon as possible.

Thanks

You may want to try doing a trace route...which shows you how fast your connections are between you and the S3 server for downloads that we us.

To do a trace route: right click on the start button and choose..... command prompt Type in Tracert renderosity.com THEN wait

Then send those results to store@renderosity.com for us to look at please? And tell us your location if you would? That helps us look at how those connections are working. 😄

Hello

i know it 2 int the morning your end, but living n Sydney Australia can make convenient replies difficult.
But in the ensuing time i tried downloading using two different browsers laying with different settings i gave up last night, only to try again passingly in the morning to have the files come down. This was after multiple attempts over several hours, so not sure what changed.

But thanks for your reply,

Hop e you had a happy Christmas.

Are you using a download manager/accelerator by chance?

I am not sure why it was giving you issues but I am glad you got it downloaded finally.

I have been having problems downloading my last two orders over the last two days. The download constantly freezes and I can only get it to restart by pausing and resuming it over and over again (upwards of 60 times/file) then they completely fail. I have seen that several other people are experiencing this same issue. Is there a problem on your end or am I getting screwed by Comcrap again?

zaqxsw ( ) posted Sat, 30 December 2017 at 8:45 AM

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR DOWNLOAD PROCESS? Since being polite didn't get a response I thought I'd try the direct approach!
If you cannot deliver the products when they're purchased why would anyone want to buy anything from here... which I believe is how you all get paid!

Hello zaqxsw,

I am sorry to hear that you having problems downloading. If you are using any type of downloading software, we strongly suggest turning that off and download directly without any other software. Please make sure to remove any partially downloaded files reboot your cable modem (I'm guessing you're on cable since you said comcrap), router and computer before trying to re-download. Sometimes, especially around holidays, there can be general slowness issues with the load on our servers, the general Internet connections/hubs and the routes used to get from one place to another. Right now, our servers are running fairly quickly and do not appear to have any load issues. So, it would be a good time to reboot everything and try again. If you continue to have problems, we will need to get a lot more technical info from you to try to hunt down the problem. But, hopefully, the reboot will work without having to get into a bunch of technical details.

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year! Renderosity Admin Team
