Subject: Pivot on ball of the foot

So im trying to make round house kick and side kicks But the only way i can get the model to pivot on the foot is to add a primitive and parent the model to the primitive the problem with that is it dosent save the whole movement because the primitive isnt there anymore. So my question is how can i make the model pivot on the ball of the foot and save it to a folder

" ... the primitive isn't there anymore." Do you mean the primitive moves around? Or it disappears? Or?

When you save an animation to the pose folder, you can control what elements are saved with it.

I suspect, and correct me if I'm wrong that once the animation is made the OP is deleting the parented object. It that is the case, all you need to do is make it invisible ... unless, alas, that also nulls it's affect on the ball of the foot. In this case perhaps if you tried turning the IK on on that foot so the ball is well planted. These are untested ideas that I've just thought of so ... take it from there.

No when the promitive is parented on the foot i can pivot the model if the ik is off. I want to pivot on the ball of the foot without needing outside objects

Then I ask again ... can it be done with the IK on for that foot. Keep in mind you need to adjust frame by frame to insure stability ... if this works.

in Poser Pro 11, i am finding that you can't parent a foot to a primitive unless IK is on for that leg.

Is that what others experience?

I am experimenting with IK on, parent foot to primitive, animate a rotation of the primitive, make the primitive invisible, render.

results later.

Here's an animation. It's not perfect, her left foot does not look perfectly natural. I thought of a different approach, but no time to fiddle with it now.

Click here for 3-second animation of "turning on the ball of the foot"

IK on, parent foot to primitive, animate a rotation of the primitive, make the primitive invisible, render.
