Subject: Can't checkout with La Femme only in cart? min. $3.50 order?

Vex ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 10:35 AM · edited Tue, 31 December 2024 at 9:59 AM

I'm not sure if this is intentional but I can't checkout with just La Femme in my cart.

Vex ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 11:28 AM

Nevermind anyway. I won't be making any products for La Femme because Poser11 is honestly, a piece of crap software that needs to go to the graveyard.

Can't get zBrush to communicate, the 'support team' has already gone to the graveyard, so nevermind.

Well, hopefully someone from the marketplace will respond. There are a lot more of us who are dealing with the checkout problem also.

Consider me insane if you wish, but is your reality any better?

PrestonW ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 12:17 PM

There is a minimum amount of $3.50 to checkout. There is nothing we can do to override that.

Then what you need to do is STOP calling the figure free and charge $3.50. Otherwise, it's false advertising. Simple. You are misleading people. Don't give us any BS about "there's nothing you can do". There is absolutely something you can do.

So, something as simple as placing it in the Free Stuff library is out of the question? I mean it is being touted as free. Is it free or is it $3.50? To be honest, I would have no objection to paying for it. I just do not like being told something is free when, in fact, it isn't. If you need to make a minimum purchase to get La Femme free, clearly state as such. Why create a PR problem with what should be a major product release?

DivabugDesigns ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 1:26 PM

If it's a matter of how the checkout process is programmed, why can't it be full price or even $3.50 with a coupon that makes it free? This is frustrating.

Torquinox ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 1:45 PM

The snag is the $3.50 minimum. You could buy another product for $3.50. Then you can slide her into the cart as a tagalong. It's not ideal, but it should work. Then you say, "Free with $3.50 purchase." Something like that.

FlagonsWorkshop ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 1:47 PM

As a total outsider on the issue, I can't use her since I am a DAZ user, this issue is creating a lot of negative comments both here and over on the DAZ board. I wouldn't just let it slide, it is ruining a pretty fine promotional effort. Either create a temporary link to download the files like you do with the prime freebies, put her in the free section, or fix the cart. You can't afford not to respond to this problem.

LaurieA ( ) posted Tue, 29 January 2019 at 1:53 PM

I feel like Rendo botched the launch of this character for Dee, Gabe, Nerd and all the other folks that worked on her and/or made stuff for her. Redo your ad copy to include "btw, you gotta buy something for at least $3.50 before you can get her".

That's exactly what DAZ3D has been doing in their store for years. That I can see, because then everyone has the "warning" ahead of time, instead of when they already have it in their cart and try to purchase it. This is very disappointing.

Actually they didn't botch it for those who made stuff for her - because if people were buying the other stuff and adding her to the cart there wouldn't be an issue. ;-)

That said it has come up before that $0.00 items should be marked "Free with purchase" or "Free with minimum purchase"

I'll probably grab her the next time I check out with something, just to have her.

If La Femme is free, then please move it to the Free Stuff area. This is a very important figure for Poser users. Please don't mess up the introduction this way.

I think the only reason they didn't do that to begin with is, La Femme isn't going to be free forever. She will eventually be available for her full price. It's just up in the air for how long she'll be available for free.

Really ?

So how do you explain this - https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2930748&#msg4344522 - an apparently successful 'purchase' of this item for $0.00?

Alternatively - what about moving it to the FreeStuff section temporarily?

The 3Dcheapskate* occasionally posts sensible stuff. Usually by accident.
And it usually uses Poser 11, with units set to inches. Except when it's using Poser 6 or PP2014, or when its units are set to PNU.

I'm sure Miss B is right, the intro is a promo effort to build user base. By now, the cart glitch is known and reported with workarounds acknowledged. When a better solution emerges, cheers to that. Meanwhile, best bet is to buy something you want and add the free thing to the cart.
