Sorry Gypsyangel give me a sec and I will see what else I can find.
@digitell @Guardian_Angel_671 Mods and cords,
Someone appears to have deleted the link in my above post to the Daz3D documentation centre regarding this subject?(Not the main site, the document centre) Can I please have some clarification as to why this was done? It makes it really hard to help people out with issue with DS if I cannot link them to instruction manual pages? I am not going to rewrite sections of the DS manual each time someone has a question, if there is already existing information that may solve their problems or at least offer a place to start. Can we not direct people anymore to the software manual for DS on Rendo?

No...that doesn't even begin to address making it redistributable. But thank you!! :D

I think this more be what you are looking for, Section 5 on covers how to modify the preset for redistribution. Not sure on the version used but the process should be pretty close. Soz LIE presets aren't really my area as I tend to use Geoshells instead when layering effects.
@ Mods it appears link are auto removed now?
Been there, done that, too... :)
That tells you how to change from absolute to relative files. It does nothing about removing the creation base texture.
The only work around I could find was to use the DAZ base as the originating layer. Not redistribute it, but leave it in as a map call by building the LIE duf on the Genesis 8 texture so there won't be any errors thrown. I had been building them on my characters until I ran into that ugly little issue. And according to the experts at DAZ, I would have to create a script to remove the LIE. It's actually just easier resetting your particular character face.
So how does using geoshells work?
Sorry to hear that, I have also ran into some issues with LIE in the past so don't really use it a whole lot.
A geometry shell creates a new version of the targeted geometry, with a an adjustable inflation amount so it sits just above your usual geometry. You can turn off parts of the Geoshell to just leave the body parts you need such as the face. The Geoshell also has a unique UV which you can set and won't be effected by changes in the base figures UV. Once applied the Geoshell has the same surfaces as the targeted figure so you just use the new surface with transparency maps for things like makeup or blood etc. Material presets need to be applied to the Geoshell and not the main figure.
This is part 2 of a video showing how to create a Geoshell and apply maps for a basic tattoo effect on Genesis. Part 1 shows how to make the maps.

How do I get the LIE overlay to NOT reference the character diffuse and translucency textures they were built on? For instance I use "Jenny" character to build a makeup set on. It references the Jenny Face Texture---then the LIE overlay.
I need it to only reference the LIE, not the "Jenny Face" So that it can be redistributed.
Bonus points if you can tell me how to do a removal mat so it clears the LIE. :D But I'll take what I can get...
Thanks!!!
