They don't need to change anything. DS may seem ''unfriendly and over complicated'' to you but many of us do not feel that way. If you want to change/alter the texture of something try using the surfaces tab. Coming from poser you will find things different and it can take a bit of getting use to but DS isn't Poser. Unfortunately I don't understand what you mean by '' script something that allows me to mouse navigate and move around items in my scene without having icon navigate the gismo feature icons which seems like a pain in the ass'' so can't help on that. Nor do I get what you mean by ''one stop everything onto quick start menue where you can easily texture, apply props manually and recolor objects with a paint tool and deform,'' DS is like Poser in this to a degree there are different rooms (in DS its tabs) for different things you will find all the tabs under Window>Panes(tabs) You can easily add things you use often to the scripts menu. DS is very customisable even down to the colour scheme.

So far I figured out the deson export for poser which was a bit unclear until I found a tutorial that actually was not confusing or skipping steps or done in a custom workspa e where mine does not match up.
However facegen artist the tutorial from the official site sucks and does not show me clearly how to apply the texture in daz studio so I ended up having to do this in poser 11 because the tutorial rushes through it and does not take the time to actually show beginners how to do it. Only thing I got out of that tutorial was how to make the morphs and apply them.
So now I want to go back to daz studio from poser with my deson exported to poser Genesis 8 figure, how exactly can I reload the figure back into daz studio without having to reapply the textures I noticed poser does this even after I copied the runtime textures from daz into the poser runtime folder going from daz to poser it kicks out all the textures and body morphs the onlt morph it does not kick is facegen for some reason
And I still have not figured out to texture anything manually in daz studio yet because it seems unfriendly and over complicated
Another thing I like to find is script something that allows me to mouse navigate and move around items in my scene without having icon navigate the gismo feature icons which seems like a pain in the ass compared to poser they need to change this and one stop everything onto quick start menue where you can easily texture, apply props manually and recolor objects with a paint tool and deform, how long has daz studio been around and it's still confusing but beautifully complex where it has advanced features that can be truly appreciated, this rant is not to down the product but as a new user this is frustrating because I don't think it's user friendly at all to first timers.
They need to streamline this so it's simple to navigate with the mouse and you don't have get a college degree in daz studio to just to texture something with a custom texture.
