The only version I saw mentioned was GameDev, which I do not have. I have been using Poser 11 Pro since it came out, which is quite different from poser 11.

Yet my version just crapped out telling me it can no longer be activated... so will the 11.2 update fix Poser 11 PRO?

In trying to install it looks like it wants me to install a FULL version of Poser 11.2.

But isn't 11.2 just an update? I'd like to update Poser 11 Pro to get it working again (I'm not understanding why the activation suddenly died).

Yes, the new upgrade works with 2014 Game Dev, Poser 11, and Poser 11 pro.

The reason the activation suddenly stopped working is because SmithMicro took the server offline, since they no longer own Poser.

The newer software will completely uninstall your old version and replace it with the current version and build. Don't forget the support.exe and extra new content. You will need your sn to access both new and legacy content.

Just laughing about Poser 11 Pro, I had such a bad time making it work that I went back to my Poser Pro 12. So its good you raised this topic. It forced me to ditch Pro11 ( Bin ) and try downloading a new Install. Ironic if this works.

I love Pro, animating for games the vanilla poser 11 is useless for me. OK I will install the new one but I use external runtimes and I'm leery of this screwing that up lol.

REMEMBER to use existing settings when installing and it will leave all your runtimes where they belong. The prompt for this comes at the tail end of the installation process, so pay close attention.

Poser Pro 2012 is the correct terminology for this version.

2012 is the year it came out, not the version. That would be version Poser Pro 9 (2012).

It was actually called Poser Pro 2012, as pp14 was called poser pro 2014, the 9 and 10 referred to the standard versions, not the pro.

I have dowloaded the update and guess what my PNG is still giving me problems. Andy is supposed to have just a shadow not the rest of the back ground? Ground has Shadow catch only in material room. FireFly render image file. Any ideas or should this be a new topic.

Got it Shadow catch only for Background Ticked and got my PNG working for the next animation. Thanks guys.

The reason why people are correcting you on Poser Pro 2012 is because, supposedly, the next Poser version will be Poser 12, likely not even being made yet, however Poser Pro 2012 was two versions ago. They're just trying to avoid confusion.

Basically we had (if I remember correctly and not counting spin-off versions like Debut and Game Dev):

Poser 1 ~ 7 Poser 8 / Poser Pro Poser 9 / Poser Pro 2012 Poser 10 / Poser Pro 2014 Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11

Which is super confusing because Poser has changed owner several times and they weren't consistent with their naming. But everything now points to that the future one will be just Poser 12, as Bondware has turned both Poser 11 and Poser Pro 11 into just Poser 11.2 - it doesn't look like they'll be making two separate programs for the same version.

Ugh I forgot the bug where single linespaces become one line of text. Here:

Poser 1 ~ 7

Poser 8 / Poser Pro

Poser 9 / Poser Pro 2012

Poser 10 / Poser Pro 2014

Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11

There are attractive Upgrade Offers for Poser Debut, Poser 6 - 10, and Poser Pro 2010 - Poser Pro 2014 (Only Poser Pro 2010 - Poser Pro 2012 are listed, but I checked and Poser Pro 2014 (non Game Dev key does work for the Upgrade Purchase. Did not have a Poser Pro or Poser Pro Base key to check if they also work.
