There is usually a readme file in some of those freebies, you could check if one exists. It might be all right as long as it's not the collection, just used to procedurally texture an object. I am familiar with the set, however, those textures are quite dated with better ways to make them more realistic in response to their enviroment.
Same here. I am currently looking at the Tabala textures and running a few renders in both render engines. I am also modifying and testing a few of the metallic textures using the PBR node which works nicely with both engines. I suggest that you go into the Material Catalogue of the Poser 11 Content Library and look under Superfly>Afrodite-Ohki; she has several free textures covering different materials. They work for both engines. In the image you included, is that the effect of the material you want? Which Tabala texture is that?
I have Dimension3D's SuperFly Materials, and there a bunch of Metal you might like.

If I use procedural shaders for texturing, I usually look for something close and modify it until I get a render I like. But I also like the material to behave physically correct or it will just look wrong. Here is an image, rendered in Superfly, combining a bronze procedural with Tabala's iron texture arrangement. I like to render with a dome (Snarlygribbly's EZDome) to check how the shader responds to ambient light.
I re-rendered the same scene but moved the light for a better representation. Done in Firefly. I do not like the results which mean I need to go back into the Material Room and tweak the settings.
This will be my last render for the evening. Going to bed. Can pick this up at daybreak. Maybe I can find something for you.
Good. I'm glad to have been some help. That rendered very well. If you are looking for some great texturing tutorials, search for bagginsbill. Some of his stuff in the Material Room may look complicated but he tries to simplify the physics and math so you may understand the rationale behind realistic rendering.
Ohhh, that rendered very well, and I agree with hborre about checking out BB's tutorials, as the man knows his stuff. I've never been disappointed in any of his goodies, or his tutorials on how to get something accomplished.

I'm making a freebie and wondered if the license of this can be used on it. I messaged the creator but it looks like they haven't been around much.
