Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
The basic program is free, just the individual licenses could get expensive if you decide to collect all that's available. In my opinion, it's hit or miss although I haven't used it extensively to convert batch clothing for any particular figure. It's analogous to Morphing Clothes but less brute force. Again, I don't too many experiences with the software so my expertise is very limited. Evilinnocense does have some free licenses for older figures if you care to try it without restrictions.
The individual licenses also come in bundles over on EvilInnocence's website. It isn't 100% on every single item (I have 2Tb of content), but I have had great results with a lot of items..
AFA 1 click solutions - Poser does have actually have a "Make Art" button that doesn't require you to spend any time or effort to learning the tools available.

I should have been more specific. Messing around in the fitting room in Poser is not my idea of a good time. I did spend a fair amount of time trying to convert stuff with some mixed results and I concluded that it wasn't worth my time fighting it to convert stuff. I have spent time in the materials room...that I consider a good time. lol

The fitting room is faster than Xdresser or Wardrobe wizard (I have used all of them since day 1 - I have moved a LOT of content) - It is also a LOT faster and easier if you use Lyrra's fitting room magnets to set your clothing up. Makes conversions a 30 second process. Literally 30 seconds. No messing around required because the magnets do the fiddly work for you. I couldn't live without them (and it is a lot cheaper than Xdresser).

I really like xdresser, even if you have to tweak it to get weight mapping, proper rigging and such ... The shape is there to start you out. And in most cases tweaking isn't necessary. In the end though it is what you are comfortable with.
I'm not using weight mapped figures (not sure if Dawn/Dusk are)

I seem to have had the same experience as most people here, on the whole it works fairly well and is easy to use but the results can be hit and miss. The most common conversion I do is from V4 to Dawn (now there is a surprise) and it works most of the time. One issue that does come up is anything that goes closely around the neck such as a bodysuit as it appears to come out badly twisted, this appears to be because Dawn has a neck 1 and neck 2. The neck problem can be rectified by twisting one of Dawn's neck section until the twist straightens out.
This is the Spartan Ops for V4 which is a mixture of conforming and props, the bodysuit and the boots being conforming. The body suit did have the neck issue I described above but on the whole the boots and suit converted well.
This was a render from 2017 so a little dated.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
It works well and works fast. I use it to convert between Posette and V4, and to several of Nursoda's figures. All conversions are good, with no poke-throughs.

I've tried a few programs to convert clothing in the past and gone through the tutes and converted clothing with Poser's clothing conversion process but I'm not good at it and nothing turns out as nice as I'd like it to using that. I'm also not into stuff that takes a bunch of time, patience and practice. I just want a one-click solution that works well. CrossDresser claims all that but looks like could get expensive if I want to convert even 1 figure. If you use Crossdresser your opinions are welcome.
