Online Now!

Those vers. are having more poke than the first ones but having the possibility to get the same colors for the inside and outside is great as you cannot see the pokes anymore. :-)

If you're wondering why you haven't heard from Antonia in a bit, she's just been admitted to figure hospital to have her knees weight-mapped.

odf ( ) posted Sat, 05 November 2022 at 2:50 PM

It looks like I won’t change the origins, so my weight maps and your JCMs should be more or less compatible, assuming we both end up with reasonable knee shapes. If yours look better, which they probably will, I might try to modify the weight maps as to reduce the difference.

In short: wait, or don’t. Ask me to wait, or don’t. Just as long as something is done about her knees. In any case, my stuff, if I don’t give up because knees are too hard, will just be an add-on. The next full Antonia version, if any, will be full unimesh, made for Poser 13 or later.

I just took a look at her knee bends. I'm not going to mess with her knees, which I think are fine compared to other Poser figures. Nicely squared rather than pointy, the bend fold perhaps a bit deep toward the knee maybe. Perhaps the compression of the calf against the thigh could use a tiny bit of touching up but not enough to warrant anything for my purposes. I'm going to concentrate on her kneck down to her thigh bends, buttocks, and take a look at her wrists and ankles, could perhaps use a flat footed morph maybe. I haven't gotten to that yet, I'm doing breast stuff right now. Though her shoulders are ok, better than many, I think I can fix a couple of things. Especially multi axis things.

In other words, the Knees aren't in my agenda. Apologies for the false alarm...

I mean, that had been my plan all along. Weight-map all the joints eventually but publish as individual add-ons. I thought I had made that clear, but maybe not. :-)

My main problems with the knees are that there's a lot of self-intersection at high bend angles, which makes MD throw a fit and also does not work so well with SSS, and that the fitting room creates some nasty spikes on socks and such, possibly because there's too much lateral movement in the JCMs. I find that the latter kind of issue is easier to fix with weight maps because smoothing works more predictably. I don't expect perfect bends with just WM but letting them do most of the heavy lifting will hopefully improve things.

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with the other joints.

If the calf with thigh intersections are troublesome with SSS, they might still remain glowy troublesome a bit even with just proximity. Just a thought...

The Poser 12 PBSDF has an SSS setting that fixes the glowing problem, but one still gets blue seams when bits in the same scatter group intersect. There's still sometimes proximity glow, but as far as I've seen that's not related to SSS and usually can be alleviated by reducing the number of diffuse bounces.

I watched a talk from the Blender conference the other day about a successor to the PBDSF that's in the works, in which it was mentioned explicitly that the existing PBDSF has a problem with energy conservation, which would explain some of the glow issues. The new version will be written with the goal to always conserve energy.

Was talking about Unimesh and whatall comes with that. Sure there will be some growing pains there. Not so much in the welding issues that everyone moans about, which can be tediously solved with prop versions or easily with scripts, more in what it will bring to the table in terms of exchangability and rigging and whatnot. I'd hate to have to go back to manually subtracting in order to do difference stuff so hopefully someone will provide a solution to that in a timely fashion, if needed.

Oh yeah... Dawn 2. Shrug.

Why did you speculate that?  The PBDSF is the link between Firefly and Superfly in Poser, you'll never see such a node in Blender.  It's integrating the best of both worlds without the complexity.

Take a symmetrical morph and apply the split morph command.

Immediately after splitting the morph, delete one of the split variants _l or _r.

Does this still crash Poser in 12?

A set of Breast Morphs for Antonia 1.3

pr_BreastMorphs

knKzGacgEnftAUXTaziOLpZcXFQESApT2HHD6RMq.png

It's actually quite a few shaping and movement morphs, most are 2 individual morphs controlled by a master at 1/-1.

AamvVRY0MjdUPtoLPM5O18hJtpZnTE07F1HCxQxW.png

They are all tucked into categorized parm groups. I don't think it's my best breast morph set, for various reasons, but not the worst either. It will greatly expand 1.3's Gazongas options, it is, however, rather easy to create some rather unusual deformations if not used with prudence.

Please see the ReadMe and I can also answer any questions about the morphs if posted or PM'd...

Glad she found them useful.

For my own usage I find canned morph sets to be good up to a point. For specific poses and shapes in those poses a final very specific sculpt is usually needed over top. Making a morph set is a balancing act of trying to be comprehensive and yet not include too many things that would make the set too confusing. You end up with a lot of, what seems like, spam morphs that would be too convoluted for a distribution translation. It turned out ok. Good enough for me as a start. I won't really get to play with these things, other than making and testing them, until the projected roadmap of production ideas reaches a point of tedium. Or I get hit by a truck.

I'll address her nipple textures, which could use some variety, when Svetlanka is ready to go... that set will require some actual renders lol.

@shante

"would like to see some of the changes if possible."

Morph sets perform poorly in a spectator capacity. Download it and try it yourself. It's a small file. Actually looking at it is how many frames per second?

In most cases, for the morphs I make, pictures are just an artifact of process. The dials and process are the "art", which illustrating, would become unwieldy in terms of time investment considerations. If someone wants to see the 100 combinations, or whatever, by all means download the thing and try it out. Providing the means should be enough, I'm not trying to sell anyone on it. If you're afraid you won't like it because you can't see it, don't bother with it. It either is or it isn't, which to me doesn't matter, as for me it already is. I do sometimes like to be exhaustively descriptive of something to entertain myself and make pictures. Sharing it is meant to put the onus on another to experience it. As I once heard Dodger comment on one of his freebies "if you don't like it I'll refund your money... nay, I'll refund twice your money!" Lol.

Don't misconstrue this as an attitude, it's merely my thoughts on such a thing.

So are you going to share those conforming PANTIES Antonia's been flashing in her renders? Would save a bit of work if the PANTIES are in a state to be worked further... optimally she could use some get ups like this, in this try on haul, modeled by <sigh> Anna , wishful thinking I know, but even partially complete conforming PANTIES, fixeruppers, would be nice. Because well, PANTIES.

Okay, I'll package them up tonight.
Huh?

Wow. Cool odf :)
