Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 20 4:32 am)
They're not rubbish really. Typical panties that need their weights tweaked and a bit of fitting touch up. I considered retopoing them but they're unwelded at body part groups (no biggie, but for future reference but I think you know this now) and asymmetrical (a big biggie) and quads derived from tris (rather than from a quad conversion algorithm such as zremesher or the like) so they're a bit fussy on the center loop bit. I appreciate your forthrightness in sharing them. The time it would take to fix them altogether wouldn't be much of a time savings unfortunately, looks like I'll have to go it alone on the panties front (lol) until I have the time and inclination to do so. Thanks for the thoughtfulness odf.

Honi soit qui mal y pense.
Thanks for this but was hoping to see more samples together as in a promo page to see the differences on neutral standing figure if possible
Promo pics of the morphs with a neutral standing figure?
Sure... hope you don't mind preview images, kinda busy with the next project. Here ya go...
Welp... think that about covers it.
Waitaminute... did you want pictures of her
BOOBS?!

Regarding the panties: I used auto-grouping, which in this case was probably not necessary, but it means that I have to let Poser export the mesh, and it seems to always insist on cutting it up into body parts.
Yeah, and MD doesn't do symmetric, so there's that.

I'm messing with the weights on the thigh spread stuff, very light subtracts with adds to restore the edging piping (?) Shapes a bit after the subtracts. Trying to get the crotch to not stretch quite as much when the thighs are spread and stay more in place. It's tricky with edging details but I seem to be having some luck with it with very low magnitude passes back and forth. I can make this work more than expected I think, if I play around with it a bit, and save myself a bit of morphing fixes. At least more than I thought. This is totally workable for my needs odf.Regarding the panties: I used auto-grouping, which in this case was probably not necessary, but it means that I have to let Poser export the mesh, and it seems to always insist on cutting it up into body parts.

odf posted at 5:14 PM Wed, 9 November 2022 - #4448824Cool! Yeah, I did a bit of work on the weights to get rid of the worst deformation, but I was pretty lazy about it, so still room for improvement. I find that for things like straps the smooth brush is extremely useful when working with weight maps, much more so than for morphs/JCMs.I'm messing with the weights on the thigh spread stuff, very light subtracts with adds to restore the edging piping (?) At any rate, I can also always provide a raw OBJ out of MD if you prefer that.

Lol, so true! You are not sculpting a subdivided mesh, though, are you? That tends to get slow fast. Also, it seems that sometimes it's useful to make Antonia invisible and fly blind for a little while so that the brush can find its vertices easier. You get used to brushes in sculpting programs and then you go to Poser and it's like bargain basement 1990 or some shit lol.

So, I've restarted my knee-weight-mapping experiments because I've realized that the origin was way too far to the front to work properly.
As I said earlier, if and when this comes to fruition, it'll be an add-on, and I'll check back here before publishing it to see if it clashes with stuff others are making.

That's the spirit odf. I don't Think it'll conflict with anything I'm doing so don't fret that. Be interesting to see the WM injection thoughts and struggles. So, I've restarted my knee-weight-mapping experiments because I've realized that the origin was way too far to the front to work properly.

Odf, you'll be quite pleased to hear that I've made Antonia 1.3 a featured Poser freestuff item in a banner I created for the Freestuff homepage. If you go there, you'll see it at the top of the page (you may have to reload it several times till it comes up). She is wearing RPublishing's dynamic Little White Dress for La Femme as well as Biscuit's Gemi Hair from the RMP. She is an outstanding figure and I can't wait to see what add-ons you and Primorge, etc., etc. create for her!
I would like to suggest that the add-ons you've all created for her thus far, that are as good as they can be at this time, be uploaded to the Freestuff area as not everyone has seen or will see this thread with links to the zip files -- nor will they have the time or patience to wade through all 200+ pages looking for those files. If you do that, please be sure to include images with your uploaded files. Thank you all and keep up the awesome work on this lady!

Primorge, I didn't mean for you to remove the links to the files under any circumstances! I wasn't even aware you have a WIP thread going. I just suggested that you could upload the add-ons to the Freestuff area. I am sorry for the misunderstanding! All links removed
I didn't feel like weight-mapping, so I spend the arvo (as they say here) making a simple tank top for Antonia to go with her shorts.
My story is that she's still hiding from the pandemic so she's not really needing shoes, jeans or coats for a complete wardrobe. Ideally, I'd make her a collection of skimpy things that are easy to turn into conformers, and then maybe a second one with dynamic things later.

The socks will be a separate package from the poses, I think. I still have to decide whether to make it just socks or socks plus underwear.Nice, she could use some good poses and I like the socks/stockings. Sweet!

Jartz, I downloaded a HUGE library of fabulous poses for Antonia from the Freestuff area not all that long ago. Just go to the Freestuff homepage and type in 'Antonia' in the search field and they'll come up. I used one of those poses to create the promo banner for Antonia on the homepage itself.Nice, she could use some good poses and I like the socks/stockings. Sweet!

True! There are quite a few poses for Antonia already available from FreeStuff.jartz posted at 5:14 PM Tue, 15 November 2022 - #4449293

Many of the old 1.2 poses don't work exactly as they should with 1.3. The hands need adjustment. These new versions that odf has made work without needing the hand adjustments.
On a sort of unrelated note I'm going to create some character specific JCMs for Svetlanka's body shape. Being that's what I'm working on I'll just make the corrections to work for this specific character rather than for default Antonia. I figure if the conformer production is going to be at a modest pace I can easily make injections to pass those shapes along to any conformer that might appear. I do however want to make JCMs for default Antonia at some point. Any JCMs I make can be turned off with a master subtract, whether character specific or a general default release. I'm staying away from her knees however. Any thoughts on this odf? Think it would be too confusing (even if I explain in detail and provide a means to disable)?
Just as a heads up: I'm planning to rework joints other than the knees, as well. Definitely the hands (including fingers), elbows and feet, possibly the shoulders and neck if I can manage something that improves on the current rigging. All as individual add-ons, of course. Some of those might break existing poses and conformers for Antonia 1.3. So maybe the best way to look at them is as previews of some future version. I'm pretty sure this will, even with the most detailed and explicit warnings and explanations, confuse some people, whether you also make JCMs for the unmodified 1.3 or not. Antonia has always been and will always be confusing, lol.

Odf, I've got a question for you and that is, when I went to the Freestuff area to conduct a search for Antonia add-ons, I came across a number of ethnic head morphs by one contributor that are very nice, but they are old ones. Would they be at all compatible with Antonia 1.3, or not?
Note: I was unable to post the link to one of those freestuff add-ons, but if you run a search for the contributor sazzyazzca, they'll show up. There are several of them available.
Understood. Svetlanka will just have to be it's own specific thing as a snapshot in time. I mean this stuff is foremost for my own use, it's not really that big of a deal if things change in flux... in many ways it's sort of liberating to not have to worry about making everything flow along with an unpredictable roadmap. For me Antonia is a pretty good base that's open to customization, has integrated genitalia topology, and her UDIM mapping loads like a charm in Mudbox. I can just share things and it'll be it own peculiar thing. This isn't exactly a commercial figure with the goal of providing across the board unified support, in my eyes it's a template for creativity that's easy to share the results because of the license. I like the Island of Misfit Poser figures motif. By all means, carry on, and interested to see.
Plus there's the whole Poser 13 looming suddenly with whatever that brings...
