Subject: Geometry missing on load?

cloudwatcher ( ) posted Sun, 19 February 2023 at 4:20 PM · edited Wed, 04 December 2024 at 9:19 AM

Hi all -

I'm having a weird problem with opening Hull Breach from Coflek Gnorg in DAZ Studio. This set has 4 pieces, an airlock and three hallways.

When I add the Airlock I can see the door (yellow) part, but the rest seems to be missing.

When I add any of the hall segments, the figure appears in my scene tab, but there's no geometry there. If I go into the Geometry Editor and select all, nothing appears. Literally zero polygons. The Face Groups and Surfaces are also empty in the Geometry Editor tool options pane.

Suspected file corruption so I re-downloaded and replaced all files. Same story.

I looked at at the CR2 file in a text editor, all the paths look correct. If I go to the Geometries folder and open the OBJ files with Windows' 3D viewer, it looks fine. I can also import the OBJ into DAZ and it appears, although it is miniscule.

I also have the Valkyrie space ship from the same vendor and that loads without a problem. I haven't seen this with any of my other Poser-format products either.

I'm on Studio 4.16.0.3 (64 bit)

The log file tells me it's removing face groups but not why:

ANY IDEAS? Thanks!

I think the issue is with the material file, I had the same issue for some old we models that went into Daz. Are you opening these up from your own folder, poser folder, or Daz folder right from studio?

Just adding them from Poser Formats in the DAZ Studio Content Library (Figures folder).

If the problem was just materials I'd think I'd see the mesh but it would be all white? IDK.

Another weird thing is that when I add them I automatically get two of them, i.e Curved Segment and Curved Segment (2) appear in the scene when I've only added it once.

Check the review section on the product page, right at the bottom is a link to fixed files to get it to work in DS.
