AND..........how could I ever forget Stormrage's hair!! http://poserunderground.virtualave.net/ Even doing this image as a tongue-in-cheek, you can see how things can easily be neglected. I spent much more time searching for credits than doing the actual image. I DON'T promote neglecting all the creators that have made Poser so much more powerfull and pleasing...I just think we should all just enjoy it and if you think so much of your creations, then just sell them...don't "give" them away with 37 contitions. If someone is actually claiming another's texture to be theirs, this is indeed a serious offense and should not be tolerated in the least. I'm not so sure this is the case here...MG seems to be implying this, but silence on the other side is not a claim one way or the other. I saw no "blatant" claim by anyone...
OK, so the point is that you are not so much cheesed that credit wasnt given to you, but that the person involved actually claimed or gave the impression of claiming that the texture was HIS creation..... A riot is an ugly thing.....but it's just about time that we had one.....give us a moment to all find appropriately large sticks and we'll all gladly help you deliver a can'o'whupass to the person in question. Scarab (yes, yes, credit to Mel Brooks..."Young Frankenstein"....I know...I know....)
How about rather arguing, we figure out a suitable arrangement that is beneficial to both parties?? As always if you use someone else's texture, prop, character or god knows what else, TRY to post a credit to it. I don't much care for the idea of adding a link to every website who'se texture, prop and whatnot I use. I tried it once and it was a serious pain in the rump and I accidently left one or two people out. But after trying it once, I realized the pain it was and discontinued my effort in doing that. So here is my solution, Tanja it is up to you to accept it or not... When someone uses your companies texture, they mention that it is MICOgame's texture to where people who wish to get the texture to use for themselves can do so by the link I've provided to your company under the Web Resource section. As for "calling someone out" let me be perfectly clear about something. I don't tolerate FLAMES on this forum. People are able to speak their minds freely and creatively, but if you have a problem with someone saying something or doing something against you, don't bring it into my house and display it openly. I can respect and honor you having a problem with someone, I can even understand your frustration in regards to the person's e-mail not working or is a false e-mail, but I wont tolerate taking someone out into the public square and pummeling them. I hope that I have made myself clear on this issue. I run a company, not a day care center. Don't bring your company hit list into my company or any public humiliation tactics. It isn't good form and makes you look extremely unprofessional. It is my desire that my solution would be acceptable to you and your company so that the members are able to use your textures without feeling to confined. If not, then I will have to agree with you and plainly state that I am sorry and most likely you wont get the credit you want, or deserve for your efforts and hard work. Jack D. Kammerer
I'm JonVon, here to give you all an explanation about the texture I used in my picture "Body Studio 16", a texture claimed by MiCo Games (using Rambo-like fashions in email) to be one of their texture. At the very first time, I was breathless: NONE ever accused me to be a thief before; and I felt the accuse to be more wrongful considering the fact that I'VE BUILT THE TEXTURE FROM THE SCRATCH, using UVMapper (a freeware utility) to map the Poser 4's standard nude male mesh. To be more detailed, I used Adobe Photoshop 5.0 with my Wacom Artpad graphic tablet to paint the skin and its accessories, and then used the demo version of Zbrush to build a quick bump map for the body (Zbrush is still in the demo trial, so it's impossible to export bitmaps; I've simply solved this problem using a screen capture utility to grab the picture). The texture used for my image is a 2000x2000 pixel, true color bitmap, and the original PSD picture (Photoshop format) haves 6 layers, one per feature (color, skin structure, veins, and so on); the face was partially mapped using an actual shot of my brother, taken during a recent vacation. I still have this PSD picture so at the end I'm totally calm, the accuses of MiCo Games cannot touch me. If there is someone out there who wants to build up a public lawsuit, like the "ancient far west" used to do, well, I'm not the people for him: I can delete all my pictures in the gallery and live happy alike. There is the risk that sooner or later, will be one who will accuse me to be a thief because I used the same skin color for one of my white models; so I think I will be obliged to paint skin maps using violet, deep red and blue to avoid any kind of problem... Just another note: I ALWAYS gave, and always will, full credits for collaborations in my web page: see my webpage to check! With my very best regards, -- Alessandro "JonVon" Vannini www.mclink.it/personal/MC7872/graphics
Alessandro... I am glad that you have made your point known to the people here, which in my opinion, this situation should have never been brought here in the first place. It should have remained a conversation between you and MICOgames only. With that said, and with your part said, and EVERYONE elses part said, I think we can all just relax(right everyone??) and go back to having fun and put this behind us. I enjoy your images and I am sure others do as well, and wouldn't want to see you leave over something like this. Jack
