Poser doesn't import cameras from FBX but here's a trick to do it. In the app you're exporting from add a prop like a cone and parent the camera to the prop. Then export the scene and include the prop. Import the scene into Poser and parent a dolly camera to the imported prop at frame 1.You will need to aim the camera manually. But, now the camera will track the way it did in the source app.
1. in Blender create a new armeture with 1 bone and name it "hip".
2. add a bone constraint to it and set the target to the camera. You should see the bone snap to the cam.
3. export a bvh file. (bvh files need to at least have a bone for it to work)
4. In Poser I made a prop (which is missing now, but that's not important) and gave it a group named "hip" then in Setup Room gave it a single bone (hip). I created this to be a single bone "figure" called CamFig. (make sure to add it to your library for future)
5. The magic: Select CamFig, set the Dolly Cam as child of the 'hip' then import the bvh file onto CamFig.
Its a bit of a work-around, but was successful. The one issue I had was for some reason the Animation needed to be rotated 90 degrees on the X axis for the cam to look the in the correct direction (not rotate the hip bone as this would mess up the animation). But once you get it right, you can bake all of the keys on the camera and then unparent it by dragging it back to UNIVERSE in the Hierarchy Editor. the camera will retain all of the animation data.

I came up with a weird trick that works (almost) perfectly getting camera animation from Blender to Poser while experimenting with virtual cams.
Basically we need to make a couple things to trick the apps into letting us use mocap data. I imagine this can also work for fbx, but I used bvh.1. in Blender create a new armeture with 1 bone and name it "hip".
2. add a bone constraint to it and set the target to the camera. You should see the bone snap to the cam.
3. export a bvh file. (bvh files need to at least have a bone for it to work)

5. The magic: Select CamFig, set the Dolly Cam as child of the 'hip' then import the bvh file onto CamFig.

Thanks, Shane. Got to love all these workarounds. LOL

Its part of the charm of using Poser; the fact a sometimes janky work-arounds actually work. I still prefer Poser for animation over industry standard 3d apps....though I do use them in the pipeline for other things. There are just a lot of cool things that are made possible in Poser. I hope it never goes away. Thanks, Shane. Got to love all these workarounds. LOL

How do I import a camera motion or animation, from another 3D application? I have an fbx file with camera animation. I want the same camera animation./motion. Can I put it in another application (Like Blender) and Export it as something that Poser will accept for camera animation?
Thanks,
