do you have the free edition from a magazine or something if i remember right you cant import except dxf and 3dmf or whatever but if you have a file conversion program like 3d exploration you got it made just convert them to the dxf or whatever if you dont have 3d exploration you can get a almost full version from thier website that works for 30days get it and do some serious file conversions or just go out and buy bryce4 which is ten times better than bryce3 or better yet get 5 and you wont be sorry, except for the slow rendering and a few other litte things but try 3d exploration for now and start having some serious fun! cheers!
Yes bryce 3 supports 3ds files and obj files, as to why you prefer DXF I do not know. OBJ and 3DS both support groups. so they are easy to texture, whereas dxf is all one object. To import 3ds and obj files, just go to file/import and find your file, When 3ds and dxf files are imported, they will be of poor quality as well, so you need to smooth them by clicking the "E" Next to the selected object, and click the smooth button until you are satisfied. Bryce obp files (yes that is obp) can only be imported to the presets themselves. To do this, click on the triangle next to the create button and click add in the prests meu that pops up. Hope this helps out.

I've got a copy of Bryce3D which I never got around to loading into the computer until now (Mac G3/OS8.5). According to the User Guide that came with the program, Bryce3D only accepts DXF and 3DMF props. However, in Shamms Mortier's Bryce3D book, he states the program will support 3DS, OBJ, DXF, and 3DMF props. What's up? I have a ton of props in OBJ and 3DS format, and I plan on importing Poser 4 figures also.
