"What 3D Program Should I buy?" Not one person here can really tell you what's best for you, as everyone has their own taste in workflow. Try the demo or learning edition of the program you're interested in, this is the only way to find out which programs you like.
Travis Really nice to see your dragon (or perhaps griffin with bat wings) rise. I just noticed something: the shoulder and hip look like no bone inside. How to say? Like arms and legs just attached to body (like plastic toy) Something strange about neck I look at it and feel there ia something wrong but can't tell axactly. BTW I love the talon, waiting to see his feet (oh please take care those heels too)
Thanks render < alot of the feel is dou to the way i model and the fact that those areas arent smoothed yet the back legs and tail havent been worked with yet the wings were only 5 minute wings and wernt atached just put in the pic to see if it would work or not funny your the second person that thought it looked like a griffin kinda cool not sure about the neck and which heels wer you talking about thanks for the pointers ill make sure that i pay close atention to those areas when tweaking the model later its alway s a help to get input !
bad connection. I have to type it 2nd time. Griffin suppose to be a monster with lion's body and have head and wings of an eagle, that's why I think your dragon look like griffin. Let's talk: What's kind of skin dragons have? In my area we have dragon with lizzard feature (Do you know Mu-chu from Disney's Mulan? That's one)
thanks for the links unfortanetly the pics are to small to see but i get the idea and know where to look now thank you thats what this forum is all about !:) im not sure where im going to go withthe skin theres so many options with a mythical creature i thik ill wait and see how the character develops and then do a concept like what it hunts or eats weathe r enviroment so i can tie in the color armour etc eg if it was a dragon that lived in cold whether makingit bluish white some spots of fur and large armour plates SCAle plates would be cool
Great work guys. I'm not sure how picky you want to be. As a biologist, I look for the way an animal (real or otherwise) works.Anatomical pictures are great references. Just remember, it's bones that we must build on (eg. watch the shape of the shoulder blades in your dragon). Also, the claws and horns need to be functional if possible. I like the backward pointing horns, but realistically they would offer the dragon little in the way of protection or weaponry. Also, be careful of the claws....if they're too big, the animal couldn't walk (look at felines...they have retractable claws). I hope this advice helps. I'm better as a biologist than a designer!! Keep up the good work.
