Attached Link: Check out how Poser was used in the film production

Poser Pro Pack, and Lightwave were recently featured on the Apple web site for their use as a pre-visualization tool set for the new film "The One" This is a great story about the ower of Poser and Lightwave. Steve Cooper

Coolness, I alwys watch all the DVD "extras" when I purchase a film on DVD. And on a lot of them, it shows what was done to Pre-visualize these kind of things. Often they refer to Mays or SoftImage, but what a great pat on the back Steve! It's nice to see that the "Big Guys" use software that we all can afford. But of course this was all done on Duel proccesors and hi end G4s (which are still a little pricey but within reach). I've seen poser used in so many proffessional ways, it make the mind reel. I'm glad that I've been a part of this since Poser "The pre-quel" ;-) James And I I'm getting LightWave for Xmas. Now to knit a stocking large enough for a duel G4 to fit in it. That'll never happen this year, but I can dream. I'll just have to up my memory on my G4 Cube and muddle through.

Interesting story. Now if only someone would make an entire Poser movie, that would be really cool--perhaps starring Micheal and Victoria. Just a passing thought, I don't want to debate whether or not making a movie with photo-realistic human 3d models is a good idea again. I imagine that many directors would find Poser any excellent tool for story boards for films if nothing else.

Great to see Poser getting some recognition from the 'big boys'.

It was amusing how they 'spun' the story though;

**
Only on the Macintosh could we produce this intense project while beta-testing at the same time.
**

Haha .. it works fine on my PC too.

After my computer crashed, I received help from every company I contacted, in retreiving my 'downloadable' software (my backup CD turned out to be corrupt), every company except for Apple, that is.

I have (had) Quicktime Pro. Try finding an email address on their site. I couldn't. They have a forum, that gave me defective pages, each of the multiple times I attempted to access it.

I tried their telephone support. I was blown off numerous times, told to call a different number. I finally gave up.

I had been curious about Macintosh, after seeing how many of their users are devoted to them.. but I will never buy anything from Apple again.

You'd think that a company who sells a product who's user's will suffer constant incompatibilities with a multitude of software programs would at least give some support to the people who spend money with them?

Great news Steve, BTW was poser used in the 6th day for pre-visualization coz i'd bet my pc if those aren't poser figures they must be the ones from zygote that are the same meshes but for max or LW...its in the extras on the DVD....i can fire a screen shot if you want a look.....Steve

Welcome back, Cooper. Hope the honeymoon was groovy. Interesting tip on "The One" from Quicktime News. Poser has always had that appeal, for use in rapid modelling of a storyboard. And looking at the relative lack of problems Mac users experience with Poser (as compared to the difficulties Windows users sometimes experience, due to their OS), I can see why they'd use Macs for that project, even if it's obviously positive Apple spin-doctoring.

Steve, If I only could share how many films have used Poser for either on screen content or for pre-vis work, i'd need a new forum ;-) Unfortunately, most projects hold their tools too close to be able to promote them. Poser, It's the little tool that could. Steve Cooper

Now if they could just get software to write an original script... This is a cool trend, hopefully further insuring the longevity of my favorite piece of software. Way to go!
