Actually, it's quite an idea. I agree about the huge curls, though. It looks like she has large hair rollers in her hair, setting the curls, and they need to be brushed out. If you play with the idea, though, I think you could come up with some interesting hair styles. Maybe, the idea could be experimented with by using exported rocks from Bryce or something with a more irregular shape than cyllinders or spheres. I hope you share some images of further studies with this. Melanie
it's good, go with it, vary those primitives a bit. i am working on a similar project for males... shorter of course. it was harder than i thought and it may take forever and someone will get there before me but it's the journey that counts ;) by the way, one advantage of this method is relatively low poly count. Poppi was surprised when I said my spiral hair was only 2meg. i was surprised that is considered low?!? i think anything above 1meg is high... :)

a sweet disorder in the dress kindles in clothes a wantoness,
do more bewitch me than when art is too precise in every part
Yeah, its getting much better. It still might need something to visually soften it a bit, either a trans or a bump map -- the latter might also take the edge off the sense of masses more or less randomly placed. You might also look at a different texture map for the top-most pieces. The lighter center stripe seems to almost give away the structure of it, whereas something with a more consistent look might hide them a bit.
I believe I started this around six o'clock, as an experiment. That was 6.5 hours ago with a couple of breaks for cleaning, eating etc. Probably five hours all told, thus far. Thanks you two! I really am amazing myself, actually. I've been wanting hair like this since I first opened poser and here it is taking shape with no immediate signs of failure :D -WTB
Looking good! Like "tied back" and the front of the ponytail. As for the back view of the ponytail, looks like transmapping... maybe the morph is causing overlapping transmaps. "Up for anything" also has potential, might need a transmap on the parts sticking up to make the ends more realistic. But all much better than I could do!
