Hi folks, perhaps I should have posted this in the Byrce forum, but more people troll this one so I figured I get a faster reply :p. My question is about applying bump maps in Byrce, is it possible? For example, when doing my comic I used about 50 / 50 Byrce Poser, is there a way to get the "zipper" bump from image b) done in poser to image a) done in Byrce? I think I could have worded the question better, hopefully people will understand my poor grammer skillz. Yes, how to do bump maps, poser to Byrce. A link to a tutorial would be great, I am sure one exsists, I just don't know where. Thanks for your time. - Gazzy

here is a link posted to applying transparencies in bryce in the bryce forums, using the same technique bump maps can be applied. You can go with a multi-channel setup, by putting the bump marble in the second channel, and loading your map in their, or put it in the first channel, and follw the procedure for applying a transmap, but apply the bump instead. Don;t forget to set a bump strength :} http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=68021

Note: you need to have the original bump .jpg. If you only have the .bum file (and some vendors supply only this) you are out of luck. Back conversion (bum to jpg) cannot be done correctly (see previous posts on this).

I think there does exist a bum to tif converter. Around here someplace. Looks like you need to fiddle with the specularity/diffusion some to get them to match. Apply the bump first! or you'll have to readjust afterwards. Nice outfit. VVicky body texture? Lyrra

Texture set is DD's Angelique, IMHO the best low res set around. Super veratile humma humma humma. And her out fit is actually just her skin turned a differnt color with the material editor and I applied a single black line bump map to the chest for a zipper. I tried it in Bryce and it does work, altho it does look a bit different. But when you have lots of comic frames and wacky lights I hope the viewers don't notice. - Gazzy
