Subject: NOVA is coming! WIP

nova00.jpg The entire costume is modeled into the main P4NudeMan. The only texturing needed is for the skin parts of the neck and the head parts. Just have the boots to do and a little tightning up on some spots.

Fantastic! Nova was always a cool character! Thumbs up!

You might want to tighten up buckethead's helmet. It looks a bit big. Otherwise, it looks great. Can we have a Speedball after that?

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sat, 25 December 1999 at 10:09 PM

Actually, if "Bucketheads" helmet is taken in anymore than that, his ears pop through. When I made it in my modeler (Lightwave), I had the head in the background layer so I could get the size correct. I then opened a hair hr2 file and subbed the helmet for the hair :o)

I guess it's his ego making the helmet so big! So, when do we get Nova and then the Bouncing Wonder?

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sun, 26 December 1999 at 1:30 AM

Well, for starters, his body isn't "Superheroed" yet, so that may give the helmet too big appearance. I just finished working on the boots, so hopefully sometime Monday I'll have him finished up (tomorrow I'm off the comp- FOOTBALL!!!)

How did you do the emblem on his chest if it isn't a textmap? Is there a trick there that I don't know?

Cage, the entire suit is modeled- The emblem (there is a large version on his back), the stripes down the legs, the belt, and the blue on the yellow forearms, as well as the blue on the shoulders. In Lightwave, they have a tool called "stencilling". I loaded the P4NudeMan into Lightwave, and stencilled the costume parts into each body part seperately, so as to retain the group. Then in UVMapper, I renamed the surfaces to match- All of the blue parts are a material of blue, the yellow as yellow, so the chest emblem has the same material as the other yellow parts, BUT has the group names of the chest and both collars (it's a part of them too).

To get the ears not to pop through you might try the no ear morph from Traveller ... Should do the trick but pretty cool ... Good luck
