Subject: need help for create morph target with 3dsMax

romanichel ( ) posted Mon, 11 February 2002 at 6:43 AM · edited Sun, 02 February 2025 at 8:42 AM

Could you please help me for the use of export/import obj files from Poser to 3dsmax and 3dsmax to poser? I have the plugin from Habware, but when I export some parts of poser character in obj file format, then import and export from 3dsmax, then load morph target with the object files exported from 3dsmax, the parts are moving when I use the dial. Anyone could explain me please, or know tutorial?

PS: I don't have Max, but I think you moved the morph target in Max. That is a common mistake for other 3D programs also.

If you change ANYTHING ...

o ... scale (even if you rescale) ......................... see line below
o ... position ................. (even if you think you've moved it back)

o ... rotation (x,y,or z) ............................. *see line above

the MT will NOT work properly.

You can ONLY change individual vertex positions.

Been there, done that!

thanks for yours answer, but the problem for now, is for the import/export setting. without any change, only import and export, the object seems to move.....

... export is as a "morph yarget?" Try doing it WITHOUT this box checked. ;=]

I tried with and without the morph target checked when export object from Poser, but I have always the same problem. it is some import and export settings in 3dsmax,and I tried some also!

mwa ( ) posted Mon, 11 February 2002 at 12:07 PM

When you import: check: Multiple Rotate model Texture cordinates OBJ smooth and put vertexscale to 1.0 When you export choose Object check: Rotate model Polygons Texture cordinates smooth group set Vertex scale to 1.0 and File to 8 Hope this helps and that you understud everything it's my notes from a tutorial a saw a couple of months ago Magnus

I could try to help you if you have more precis questions. But my best tip is to just play around with the model.(But don't move it!) Magnus

I have no more precis questions for the moment! I just want to try to make some morphs target, and also create clothes with max, in the future. For the moment, I am just in the beginning of learn.
