Minot, eh? I didn't know Steve was an Air Force man. Anyhow, cool to hear it. I remember that regular UV Mapper was also something you had to do before making Poser morphs in Anim8or. It has this knack of "fixing" OBJ files....I downloaded the demo, - worked with it, - and had to scrape my jaws off of the floor several times. I guess my drooling worked. lol I bought it the first day. I just LOVE how it works together with Photoshop (or any other graphical program) AND since Amapi does strange things (uh... it might be that I'm doing strange things in Amapi), UVMapper pro quickly straightens it out. I can't imagine being without it now. Britt

what's a minot?? okay, so i forgot the uvmapper url. for those who don't know it yet. you coulda at least posted the right one, mike ;) (YOU GOOF!) :) hey, did you know you can snap the points together? i was cylindrical mapping my legs, you know? and i wanted the paws to be flat mapped, so i chopped them off and did a flat map, then i 'sewed' them onto the cylindrical legs (all in the proper spot!). that was killer. :) its the weld thing. there's two weld things, one actually welds the obj vertices. (i think....) the other welds the selected uv points together. and with the rotate and all... just incredible. :)Hey, this is INSANE - you mean I can see what my multilayer texture map in Pshop does on the actual model - in realtime??? Huh? I mean - that's like, so darn cool... Can it handle something complex like say a whole Vicki? jstro - a seam guide shows where the edges of say the back and front sides of a tex map meet - so you can get a piece of clothing to have sides that look right, for instance. :]FishNose

i to was in love w/ uvmapper when i 1st started using it..... but try this........ ( steve dont kill me ) when using uvmapper, i was unable 2 move my "pieces" around. i could only use the map if i didnt resize parts or move them around........ i tried it w/ the 1st model (free 4 all in my freebies section ), and uvmapper couldnt do nuffin 4 me...... then i tried lithunwrap..... it takes and exports nearly all 3d formats, and it werks so sweet. you MUST try it...This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. and steve cox is.... at least a minot deity! :) i was doing some head morphs in lightwave and they came out WRONG. because it ended up that i used compose to chop the head off the obj to stick into lightwave, and compose apparently messed up the vertex order. so i have these perfectly good morphs that dont work, that i DO NOT want to do all over again! then i thought, hey, i saw something in uvmpro.... reorder vertices! so i exported the head from poser as an obj, and loaded my messed up morph targets, and told uvmapper to reorder the vertices according to the proper obj. YES!!! they WORK!!!!! oh oh oh! totally saved me some time and agonizing rework! yeah, baby!!! well, i was happy, anyhow. totally killer tool in uvmpro. what a sanity saver!! :)
