Evening all . . . . . 8^) I sure hate to bother any of you members again with one of my problems, but I have to know if it's just my system, or has anybody else experienced this problem? I created a test object in TrueSpace 5.1 / then saved it as a .cob file. Now I open Vue 4.05-02 to see how a .cob file will import & render. I import the .cob file, actually I've tried three different .cob files, & the loading scale at the bottom of the screen shows that it's loading, but at the end I get an error message = that Vue is unable to read the .cob file. So, at this point I cannot import any .cob files. I've tried two different .cob files versions = one for TrueSpace 5.1 & one for TrueSpace 4.3, neither work. Maybe I'm missing something??? . . . . . ;^( Anyway, any information or comments would be greatly appreciated & you all have a good one . . . . . Mark. . . . . . ;^)

I just did a quick test using 4.05-02 and a cob file from MetasequoiaLE in win 98se, and it loaded fine. Are other object formats ok on your machine? Let e-on know about the problem, its probably not just you.

I could not import a cob from MetasequoiaLE and got the same message as Mark (Win 98). Guitta

I think it's the same thing like with the Lightwave .lwo situation: .LWO objects will load if they were made with a version of LightWave 5.6 or earlier. The Lightwave people changed the format as of version 6.0. Vue will import .LWO files created no later than LW 5.6. I think that's the case for True Space as well: The ones which aren't importing are likely newer versions of the .COB format. Strangely enough, 3D Exploration can read all these files just fine, and it's current version is younger than Vue 4....

I got the same mess also. But only whwn using the blob function in MetasequoiaLE If I only work with primitives it works fine. ???? Myske

For me it works now also. It did not work with an imported Poser figure which I have then sved as a cob. Guitta

I just gave some more import file types a try in Vue, & at this time it seems the only file that I can't import is .COB. All the rest imported / excepted a texture or material / & rendered fine. I suppose I can always convert the .COB file to another file type, then import it into Vue 4.05-02. . . ;^) Mark.

I've never had much success importing trueSpace files - the Vue manual does state that it will import trueSpace 2 files - I use 4.3 so I just figured it was stumbling over the newer features. Saving my trueSpace models as 3DS from trueSpace usually did the trick.
