I been working on the pic below (it's part of a larger render) and was shocked to notice that the poser ball is not round! Since this is suppose to be a bubble I need to get rid of the corners. Does anyone know where I can find a ball with more polys so it's smoother around? Thanks

Also, do you want a 64-segment sphere (very round, but high-poly), 32-segment sphere, or 16? (I think the Poser ball is like 8 or something.) /P

Wow that would be great. The smoother the better as it is a large part of the pic. Send to gamerleburns@triad.rr.com Thanx! BTW, what are you using to make it?

OpenFX... as soon as I can get all the normals to export, I'll have 'em cooked up. /P

'k - check yer mail; I included two different styles, in both .obj and .3ds format. The smoothest of the two is the lat-long style ball, but boyohboy is it loaded with polys... /P

If you have Bryce, you could export that scene (as obj) from Poser, and then replace the Poser sphere with a Bryce example after import. Bryce spheres are absolutely perfectly round, no matter how close you get to them.

I loaded a sphere in Bryce 4, but it wouldn't give me the option to export the object. ?? I did find a nice sphere using Thorne's atmosphere tool, but I will certainly check out these others. Thank!

Unfortunately, you cant export any Bryce 'primitives' (box, sphere, etc). My suggestion was to export the items from Poser, replace the Poser ball with a Bryce sphere, and render the result in Bryce. Poser objs will import into Bryce4 just fine.

For a quick sphere that is not that heavy in polys you can do one in UV mapper. Under file menu its is new object and you can set the dimesions.

Wow thanks for all the help. I'm uploading the image I was working on now in the Poser gallery.
