Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 8:11 pm)
Open your downloaded zip file with for instance winzip. There is most likely a "read me" file, with directions to where you should put your files. But in general the .obj files go into your Poser/runtime/geometry-folder hair files go into your Poser/runtime/library/hair folder and the texture/transmaps go into your Poser/runtime/texture foler. Hope this helps Britt
As far as applying the hair to the head, you should then find the hair item in the library, where you can click on it and it will usually just go right to the figure's head. Now, you should note that some hair is a figure, like Anton's Vicki Changing Ponytail, and it's in the Characters libaray, not the hair library. Usually, the hair from the Hair library will already be parented to the head and just stay there, but in the case of Character hair, you will probably have to Parent Figure to the character's head in order to make it stay with the figure when you move him/her. Also, when bringing in a Character hair item, you ned to click the double checkmarks as if bringing in a second character, or the hair will replace your human figure. I hope that didn't confuse you. You can also set it on Cartoon w/line and you'll be able to see your transparent hair. Do read the Readme document that comes with the zip file. Sometimes, individual hair objects have special instructions and that's where you'll find them (and if there's no Readme document, shame on the author who created it) :) You'll often find tips and information you'll need to know about the item when using it. The Readme can be a very important document. It should also give copyright information which tells you how you can or cannot use the item. Melanie
