Subject: Where can I find Male Leather Pants?

Poicyn ( ) posted Sat, 22 January 2000 at 12:54 AM · edited Fri, 31 January 2025 at 12:40 AM

Hello... I'm new to posting here and everyone seems so helpful. I was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find some Leather Pants for a Male figure to d/l. I appreciate any help you can give me. I have searched all over the place with no luck. Thanks! :-)

Hmmmmm Well, rbtwhiz has some chaps on his site R.O.S.B (link to your right---->) but if your looking for full leather pants I haven't seen them... BUT Traveler at Morph World 2.0 (link to the right--->) has some morphs that get rid of the pockets on the male jeans (I believe it's the jeans or dress pants, can't remember) to make your own leather pants... Hope this helps some...=) ~Cindy

Alas, there is a horrible lack of any kind of male clothing! I think there will continue to be a lack until we join forces and rise in one voice, supplicating to the Modeling Gods, saying "please, oh, please, give unto us male clothing!" Then maybe, just maybe we might get one pair of leather trousers (or maybe thigh high, stilleto heeled boots!). Until the Gods take pity upon us and look briefly away from their pretty Posettes, there is a practical way to get leather pants. Take the jeans and slap them on a poser dude, preferably one that's not a Dork. Go to Render materials and change the color from blue (blue jeans) to black. Make the highlight a charcoal grey or maybe a little lighter. Make the reflective color bright blue. Now this will give you pants that can pass as leather or as spandex. To get leather, you need to find a texture. No, no, my new friend, you don't have to jump into learning to make a whole texture map from scratch! One square of a texture will work just fine. Took me all day today to find that ideal little swacth of texture that would work. And low and behold, it turned out to be a texture that was blue! I'd been looking for one that was black! Silly me! If you get the blue texture (e-mail me and I'll send it to you) and put it on then change the color from completely black to a very dark charcoal. When rendered this produces what looks like brand new, off the rack leather pants. Voila! Look for my next post which will contain the main character from my vampire novel, Shadowclash--The Awakening, sporting is new leather pants.

Like I said Traveler has a morph for the male jeans to get shed of the back pockets if your gonna use the jeans for leather pants.... Not sure if leather pants have back pockets... I haven't known any guys since art college who wear leather breeches anymore... *wink... Oh and Funryu anything you have have to offer up is always welcomed.... =) ~Cincy

Thanks everyone so much for your help so far! I'm pretty new to Poser and getting more confident every day. Now I'm wanting to try new things. I went to Traveler's and got a morph of male jeans that looked like the pockets were smoothed on it, as you suggested Cindy. And Dreamspinner I will also try your idea in the next few days. If I should ever find a black leather texture I will let you know. Thanks for the ideas! :-) Funryu, if you could make those pants I would be so grateful! LOL Thanks to you as well for adding it to the wishlist. :-)

Go look at my Vyper character. If you like the look of the pants just give me an e-mail at drmspinner@earthlink.net and I'll send you the texture that I used and the bump map that I made to go with it. And yes, folks, there are leather pants out there with front and back pockets on them. So if you want to smooth the pockets off, that's okay, but you really don't have to. Where's Poser dude going to keep his lighter, wallet, keys, ect.?

Byte Me Ok ( ) posted Sat, 22 January 2000 at 5:16 AM

All the leather breeches I've seen in the past were so dad-gum tight that there was no room for lighters, wallet or keys.... I thought the whole point was to look like you had been melt and poured into them.... hehe Anyways, next guy I see with leather pants on I'll check them out for pockets.... tee hee *=) ~Cindy

Vyper is modeled on the lead guitarist of the band Motely Crue. I have been a fan of theirs since 1983 and have a huge magazine clipping collection. The guitarist, Mick Mars, has worn both kinds of leather pants over the years. He prefers the looser one's with front and back pockets. In photos he usually has his hands in his pockets for lack of anything to do with them (some photographers won't let him smoke during a photo shoot). Now I have some pics from him on stange in 1989 when he was wearing leathers so skin tight he probably had to lay on a bed and use a hanger to pull the zipper up! Ah, but did he not look good in them!

Up THE CRUE!! But on a serious note, did anyone ever post a pair of useful leather trousers? I'm a biker myself and prefer the loose ones, but since it's LOBO I'm working on I gues they've gotta be tight! :) Can anyone help out...? - HairyBIker@Budweiser.com

P4 Jeans or Slacks have to be used for the leather pants. It's the texture which makes them look like leather. I've made two leather textures. One for each conforming clothing, if I remember rightly. I believe also that Traveler made a morph to smooth the pockets away on the Jeans figure. There is a conforming pair of riding chaps from Right Side of the Brain (you can find his site by visiting PFO and checking member updates. He's changed the location of his site frequently but he says this one is permanent because he owns his own .com now.) He has restrictions though on the use of this model, as in he doesn't want his stuff used for Lewd pictures. I use his model on occassion so have to abide by that, wish that I didn't have to, restricting the type of pictures that can be produced using a model isn't in my opinion a good idea. This is why I'm hoping someone else will make a conforming pair of riding chaps with or without jeans with no restrictions on usage. I'm unclear on your Motley comment, does that mean you like them? I'm an 80's metal child and always will be.

Cindy, Dreamspinner, thanks for pointing in my direction :). Yes, there are a pair of "Jeans & Chaps" on my site (R.S.O.B.). www.rbtwhiz.com is the URL, and I assure you this is the last move (this time, out of my own pocket - registered for at least 2+ years). In regard to restrictions for use, they are my right as the author... I do not want the items I provide for "free" to be cast in bad light through other's images. If I allow them to be used in such a manner I then become associated with the content, and I have no desire to do so (guilty by association, so to speak). I believe there is a time and place for such things. If you want to render lewd/pornographic images and keep them confined to your hard drive... be my guest, unless I'm told I'll never even know you did so. But display such an image for the masses to view using them... using your words Dreamspinner (no disrespect intended), "isn't in my opinion a good idea". -Rob

Yes, you are entitled to this, I said that I abide by it. However, this particular model would work well for certain costumes in the B&D area. I don't believe in guilt by association. But I do abide by your rules regarding this particular model. Actually just the chaps without the jeans would be needed for the B&D pics. I was just stating my opinion, that's all. I believe that you made a wonderful model and so few people model anything for P4 Dork, and this one would go well now that there are at least two motorcycles for Poser available. I would hope that soon you would make more clothing for him because Posette has all this wonderful Neimen Marcus clothing and Dork has Walmart clothing. By the way, do you still have the tattoo needle available. I lost you the last time you moved and need to book mark you again.

KateTheShrew (www.shrewslair.com) made a pair of chaps(minus the jeans) before I built mine. It was by her invitation that I built the ones at RSOB. I'm not sure of the resrictions regarding thier use, but it may be a solution... Most of the stuff I build is geared toward the male figures (unless its an animal)... I do so for the simple fact that there are more than enough who build solely for the females. The tattoo gun isn't availble right now... It was my first attempt at modeling and there are so many things I'd like to readdress in its construction. The polycount was way too high . I also want to make it a part of an articulate set of props that'll include the footswitch and power supply (and associated cords). -Rob

The tattoo set up sounds great and even though I don't model, I know that it would be a lot of work. I hope that you find the time to finish it.
