I finally finished the spider and set up the joint parameters it's not the most brilliant model, but it's my first, and I did build it totally from scratch I'm trying to upload this to my webpage as I speak (having trouble with the connection *sigh*) but hopefully it should be on freestuff very soon I must thank Eshal heaps for helping me out, putting up with me sending her millions of renderings as I was building it and helping me decide what to change, helping me with the textures etc. but most of all for continuing to encourage me so I actually ended up finishing it. PhilC for putting up with me hammering him with questions =) LoboUK for....dunno, but you rock Paul! Ikyoto for saying he wants me to post the model (and I hope he's not the only person that wants that) bloodsong for telling me I need a scowl brow (which I didn't end up making) If many people download/use this, and there is any demand, I'll make an addon-pack with a scowl brow, and extra things like webs, more pipes etc. so you can customize it oh...and legume...don't let it eat any babies, remember what happened with the frog? JeffH and Kits also deserve a mention for helping me out when I was having importing problems =) hope I haven't forgotten anyone else... SewerRat

HOT DAMN!!! I don't have any beasties other than Poser characters I've deformed with morphs (I even took the damn robots off my drive)... But this thing is TOO damn cool! I don't rant about people's stuff, but I will about this. the fact that the face is so cute makes the nasty "I'll pin your skull to the floor" legs all the more fun. Cool stuff.

PhilC ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 10:20 AM

Wooohoooo you made it... well done... trying for the download now :))

davo ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 10:22 AM

Very nice SR, I love to see people making original stuff from scratch, you just can't get exactly what you want unless you make it yourself. Aren't joint parameters a b*tch? That's the worse part, and oh don't forget the mysterious black-faces, I haaaaaaaaate those little pukes! Anyway, keep up the very good work. Davo

Ikyoto I have to agree with you when you said "the fact that the face is so cute makes the nasty "I'll pin your skull to the floor" legs all the more fun." Sort of like Awwwwww to Arggggh! chuckles I've got a render in mind but cant do it at the moment because I am busy sorting all the masses of stuff I have gotten from here and other place and getting it ready to burn to CD so I can once again play in Poser and Bryce. Hmmm now that I think of it I might kick the other half of his suped up beast and do my rendering on that snickers I love the little guy! Eshal

I'm a genetically enhanced blonde...what's your excuse? ~Eshal~

SewerRat ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 10:29 AM

haha ikyoto, that's an interesting way of putting it =) I love that look in manga how you will get these giant scary....cute....things =) Phil: I'm having trouble uploading to my webspace, it keeps dropping me, got 10% done this time, but I bet it'll drop again and I'll have to start uploading from scratch sigh davo: yeah aren't they? I could cheat with this and turn off bending for the body parts, which made the job a whole lot easier, but even so...setting up the parameters for each leg? aaargh I had those black faces, couldn't solve it, and ended up exporting the original geometries from max again but all's well that ends well =) glad you guys like it, thanks =)

davo ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 10:41 AM

another good cheat for bending is using spherical falloff zones where the legs meet the main body, I use them all the time when ajusting those damn green and red lines just doesn't work. Give them a try, if you need help, let me know. davo

heya; yep, those posettes will definitely be lulled by the cute look of the little critter. (er, giant little critter...) heehe! i still think he's cute, even with the biohazard symbols on the tanks. poor misunderstood heinous monster... won't you be my friend? :) and you're welcome for... me not doing anything to help. ;D

SewerRat ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 11:37 AM

haha bloodsong, yep, those are good biohazard signs...he's a....nice evil monster =) anyway, I managed to get it uploaded, and it's sitting on funstuff =) unfortunately it's a disgustingly big file =( apologies, hopefully next time it'll be smaller SewerRat

Excellent model. Now I just need a good organic spider... ;-)

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 2:41 PM

Looking pretty cool there .. S

SewerRat ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 8:41 PM

CEBrown, feel free to rip apart this one to make an organic spider you'll need to redo the legs and face, but the rest should be OK =) SewerRat

davo ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 9:37 PM

Did someone say organic spider? as in nasty mean wicked looking but not mechanical spider? hmmmmm....is this a call for one of Davo's repressed childhood memories to surface and create a new creature? Davo

CEBrown ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 9:39 PM

Wish I had the 1) Hard drive space 2) Skill 3) Software to do it... :-)

SewerRat ( ) posted Wed, 26 January 2000 at 11:26 PM

haha davo, I'd love to see what you come up with =) SewerRat

CEBrown ( ) posted Fri, 28 January 2000 at 8:38 PM

Sure Davo... Though I was thinking "nasty, organic fakey looking," like Spiga (sp?) from the old Godzilla movies... ;-)

rwilson ( ) posted Mon, 31 January 2000 at 9:30 AM

Wow! I am looking at the Posette. She looks like Witchblade - Sarah Pisini. Where did you get the model for her?

SewerRat ( ) posted Mon, 31 January 2000 at 8:34 PM

she's from the "Assasins" series Sorry, I can't remember who made them (I wish poser had some way of keeping track of the authors) SewerRat
