Hi, The BBC website is reporting that the Supreme court has struck down the ruling on "virtual" child porn :) But it's also reporting that there's heavy fighting going on at the church of the Nativity in Bethlehem :( I'm with my boss on this one, I think we should nuke Tel Aviv...

c1rcle ( ) posted Tue, 16 April 2002 at 12:55 PM

Why stop at Tel Aviv? I'm sure I saw a muslim terrorist in London the other day, how about getting the yanks to nuke us as well? come to think of it there's terrorists hiding in every country these days, lets just blow the whole world up and get rid of them totally

praxis22 ( ) posted Tue, 16 April 2002 at 1:04 PM

Why stop? Simple, you'd irradiate the oil...

c1rcle ( ) posted Tue, 16 April 2002 at 1:26 PM

hehehe I was expecting a different answer totally. The best thing we can do is just build a great big wall round countries who want to fight each other and leave them inside to sort it out, just have to remember we don't want any more blasted "refugees", wake up governments, they are not running from anything they just want to sit back and let us tax payers give them the easy life

I ended up in a fight with a bosnian "refugee" cause he said the only reason he left his country and came to the UK was to bleed our country dry of money then he'd be taking his family back to bosnia to live the life of a rich man

These idiots are murdering anyone who will listen for a scrap of desert they call a "Holy Land" and a Religion that is even worse than Catholisism when it come to enshrining ignorance and sexual repression. I say give them 7 days to stop fighting, and THEN nuke them, and Isreal, and anyone who complains about it. We'll see how much they fight for their "Holy Land" when it's got a Radioactive half life of 26,000 years before people can go there without dying. America is the greatest country on Earth. That's NOT saying a hell of alot. It's like saying we're the slaves with the LONGEST chain. But it's time these Animals learn that Alah is just another NYC Cabbie in our book, and that getting fat lazy immoral Americans off the couch is the WORST thing on Earth. Worse than Poverty, worse than starvation, worse by an order of magnitude than the very Wrath of ANY GOD!!! I say... there is NO MORE TALIBAN. There is NO MORE Muslim Extremists. There are only ghosts who do not know they are already dead, and a branch of a faith that will be wiped forever from this Earth, and forgotten. And what has any of this got to do with POSER? Uhhmmmmm.... (Gets red with embaresment.) (Hops off soapbox and shuffles away.)

Ratteler - Christianity, Islam, or belief in God -however you want to say it, is going nowhere. While I would love to have the opportunity to visit the Holy Lands it's pretty obvious that it'll never happen.
Whether it was based on religion or greed or drugs, these occurances will happen no matter what. Human nature hasn't evolved beyond the greed and hate whether it's directed at other faiths, land or money. Take away religion and you'll just have to find another scapgoat to blame it all on.

So much hate in the world, and in the forums(?). What a waste of time.

Didn't China try that wall idea already? There is nothing like a big 'ol red neck with a 6 pack of beer and a pick-up truck practicing his die nigger chants in front of the boob toob allying himself with a slick, greased back lanky, nappy headed, pants hangin around the ankles, wannabe gansta/rappa screaming death to whitey and fuck the police as they both find someone else to hate other than each other. Yep, if you turn the attention of the sleeping giant away from itself, you may find yourself in a world of hurt.

Although I certainly don't side with suicide bombers and find the Middle East events a tragic mess, I think the easy opinion is to just want to kill everyone. What Americans don't or won't admit is that the U.S. historically has a pretty abominable record with foreign affairs. The Palestinians are willing to kill themselves because in many cases they live lives that aren't worth living, suffering as they do at the hands of the Israeli armed forces. In fact, if you actually listened to reports about Bin Laden, you would discover that his main beef with the U.S. was the presence of U.S. troops in Saudi Arabia. The previous Bush administration used the Gulf War to install a standing army to basically guard the oil supply. Now, i don't know if you live in the same U.S. I live in, but it's not too hard to imagine that if another country placed a standing army on our shores, there would be plenty of insane "patriotic" Americans who would not stand for it and strike out violently in some form or other. In fact, Saddam Hussein has remained our favorite Middle East bogeyman so that we can maintain our military presence overseas. But not to worry about Iraq. The shells we dropped from planes and shot from tanks during the Gulf War were made from depleted uranium -- a cost-efficient alternative to regular metals -- a radioactive substance that is toxic for something like 2 billion years. you remember all those American G.I.s who got sick in the Gulf War? It wasn't chemical weapons -- it was Uncle Sam pinching pennies. The government doesn't deny using the substance -- they deny that it's dangerous. The Iraqi countryside is littered with shells, their cancer rate is up, as well as the number of birth defects in the region. So why don't they love us more? I guess it won't matter once they've all evolved into flipper creatures. But Uncle Sam has also figured out a way to make more money, by selling this ammunition to other countries -- so look for a plutonium-rich shell soon to be dropping in a neighborhood near you. But feel free to call for wiping people out. Genocide has always worked for the U.S. -- look at the Indians...if you can find any where you live. Mike

What Americans don't or won't admit is that the U.S. historically has a pretty abominable record with foreign affairs. But, y'know, every now and then, it's not our fault. These two have been clobbering each other for decades, with or without our involvement, and we step in every time because of some misguided allegience to Israel's leaders. If we treat both Sharon and Arrafat like the bickering children they truly are, then maybe, just maybe, they'll get the point. It's unfortunate that because these two men can't see eye to eye, their mutual hatred has to spill over into the people they supposedly "lead".

Momcat ( ) posted Thu, 18 April 2002 at 3:42 PM

Personally, I'm sick of the whining about the US and our role as "Daddy" to the rest of the GD world. When we get involved, we're told to butt out, but when we mind our own business, we get lambasted for not getting involved and fixing the worlds problems. I think we've got enough of our own to worry about, rather than stepping in to tell other countries to go to their rooms and keep their hands to themselves.

Tephladon ( ) posted Thu, 18 April 2002 at 4:10 PM

I wish we did have some kind of a directive that allowed other cultures to be just what they are without having to answer to human rights violations half a globe away. I personally would like nothing better than to leave everyone to their own devices but it is far too late for that. Most of the world is woven into a large economical web. Chaotically speaking, what takes place in the jungle of of some backwood's south american mumba tribe can decide whether or not millions of people in the western world will have jobs the next day as some of their countrymen could be exploiting a natural resource found only there which is shipped by others and finally marketed and sold in the another country. Take away one of the products that make-up an alloy or a medicine, you could bring down a multitude of companies. This way of living that we have is very frail and based on limited resources. Talk about your basic dependencies. In history, the crusades strived to make sure that every thought like a single group and worshiped as they did with no forethought in the importance of diversity. Everyday, I see a commercial where some western person is speaking out against the way women are treated in the middle east or how children are exploited in parts of europe and asia and even the practices of religion in some countries. Truth is, I could care less. When they get tire of it, they will revolt and change things. I'm not some silly hippy going about and starting revolutions for causes I neither know or care anything about. I would just like this person to simply shut up and leave those people alone.

Ironbear ( ) posted Thu, 18 April 2002 at 4:51 PM

I tend to agree with VS and Momcat, in various areas of their last statements. And as a reader of history, I'm also reminded on occassion that other governments besides the US have/had "a pretty abominable record with forein affairs".
