Just thought of this to add. You can select your object in your scene then go to top view, select altitude render (make sure you zoom in on your object so it'll take up most of the frame). Once it finishes rendering then export picture to what format you want (.bmp or .tiff is probably best) then edit in your image editor and import into terrain editor. This is how I did the wheelhouse on my boat, as well as the yard arm (which is 2 cones rendered in altitude then skewed in photopaint and imparted back into terrain editor).
Hey folks! How does one say THANK YOU!!!!???? NOw these are marvellous tips! :-) Definitely makes life a lot easier! Well looks like my wish list is already fruitioning! And have you guys tried to model with KPT Gel and importing it back to the terrain editor? I did the face of the mummy and the body (The Sentinel image) and I think it has tremendous potential! All we now need is being able to paint in all the 3 planes and we have a winner! Which gives me an idea, what if we create 3 different terrain maps with symmetrical lattice and intersect them along 3 axis? Well definitely worth a dekho! Will post it in case I come across anything interesting! And thanx once more!

In the wishlist you mentioned the pain it was to export greyscale pictures from the terrain editor so I thought I post a new thread so you would see this. Go into the terrain editor and select the picture tab. Click copy then go into your image editor (photoshop, photopaint, etc) and create a new blank canvas then paste the pic from the terrain editor. It will be 128 X 128 but you can resize it to whatever dimension you need. I resized it to 1024 X 1024 without much degradation.
