Subject: Big Breasts Good or Bad??Give your opinions!

tiamatdx ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 5:02 PM · edited Sun, 10 November 2024 at 11:18 AM

I'm interested in how everybody feels about this subject. Seems like there's alot of people who feels big breasted woman ruins an image. Why would it ruin a image?? I almost always use Volumtous Vicky on my artwork, because in my opinion she has the best curves and also big implant like breasts. Yes they are not realistic, but art isn't just about being realistic, right. Or am I wrong. Not only that, I feel that the big breasts just enhances the overall look of the woman, not put down a woman. Not that having smaller breast size is not good to look at. So what do you all feel about this subject matter.

thip ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 5:13 PM

That if it's the ONLY subject of a pic, it becomes boring real quick, and we wouldn't want THAT to happen ;o)

JerseyG ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 5:14 PM

I think as in a persons real life, its a matter of personal taste. Altho, the more realistic a picture looks the more I can put myself into that atmosphere. The more cartoony it looks, the more saturday morning cartoon it becomes. Its all personal opinion. I like big breasts. For me, it adds more to a picture.

Kiera ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 5:16 PM

I personally prefer pear-shapes--smaller chest, wider hips and thighs. However, I won't knock a piece just because it has a huge chest featured on the character. I even use some large breasted characters in my work.. it just has to be right for the piece. I probably wouldn't put a giant chested woman in a more classical piece, and there's no way I would use a small-chested woman in say, a fantasy pin-up. For me it's about appropriateness, I guess.

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 5:17 PM

All I want to say is that I wish people would remember that gravity does work on breasts just like any other body part. They can only get so big before they stop being perky and start getting stretch marks and can actually be painful for the woman. Then there's the problem of getting clothes that fit. My spirit sister is well endowed; she's always complaining about how uncomfortable it is to go without a bra and how difficult it is to find one that fits.

I think two things: First: There is NO "M" in Voluptuous, either in spelling OR pronunciation. This is one of my very few spelling pet peeves and I pass it on, not as a flame, just FYI. Second: I think I'm going to watch this one from a safe distance. See ya! :::grabs hat and ducks out very quickly:::

beav1 ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:00 PM

"Big Breasts Good or Bad??" ...is this seriously a question??..heeheehee Beav Oh...and I don't think he even meant "voluptuous", Hiram,...probably "voluminous"...or some weird, hi-bred, alternative universe combination..LOL

tiamatdx ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:01 PM

Sorry fairly new in participating in the forums so forgive me if I started something negative. I just meant to get people's opinion that's it.

tiamatdx ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:02 PM

Oh yeah and I meant voluptous. Sorry not exactly a good speller.

orangeparty ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:03 PM

it depends on what colour hat they're wearing... the good ones wear white and the bad ones wear black... ;)

beav1 ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:05 PM

Darn tiamatdx...thought I bailed ya out on the voluptuous question...:)

bloodsong ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:08 PM

but orange... what if one is wearing a white hat and the other one is wearing a black hat???!

queri ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:20 PM

Tits are ok. Everyone has them even Michael-- especially Michael, in fact. If they get so Dog Gone big that they look like they're gonna pop like a pimple that's gonna explode then they're laughable or scary or both. I have to admit I've really like most of the VV images I've seen in the gallery over the last month, enough that I might buy either her or Steffy Stax, who is plain outright beautiful. Especially since you can dial in the amount of voluptitude you wish, and my wishes are probably moderate. I like em especially in armor for some perverse reason. It's just when the proportions get big enough that my back start to ache, that I get turned very very off. Emily

orangeparty ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:36 PM

then there's gonna be some trouble in dodge city, bloodsong.

diegos ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:41 PM

Big Breasts Good or Bad? If there are two, size doesnt matter! Diego

jchimim ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:55 PM

It really depends on the rest of her shape, it's how "the whole package" works together that counts. Also "Variety is the spice of life." On the other hand, if she has shapely legs and a nice posterior, I won't even notice the breasts... (Posterior would be a good subject for another thread.) ;)=

ironhart ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 6:57 PM

it's not the size that I really care about so much as the ubsurd fantasy that alot of people... men mostly inject into them. The human body is beautiful. it doesn't matter if it is fat, skinny, tall, short... etc. and the proportions are also beautiful. That is not to say that distortion is not pretty or topical, but I get tired of the same old fantasy huge, perky, breasted women. they are entirely unrealistic and if made for a reason could be a good statement, but more often I get the feeling it is just ignorance or hormones that are really creating the picture. but so it goes and so it will go on forever, Viva la difference! Ironhart

Crescent ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 8:24 PM

If they look like full grown watermelons - it's bad. It's not big vs. small - it's realistic versus insulting. Yes, there are a few derranged women who've had plastic surgery to get 72DD, but it looks gross. It's tiring to see picture after picture where all that matters is the Goodyear blimps taking center stage.

Mason ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 9:19 PM

That doesn't seem to be a complaint yet I've seen pics here of guys with enough garden hose to put out the WTC. Certainly no women complain about big penises, why are you guys complaining about large breasts?

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Thu, 02 May 2002 at 9:30 PM

Well, if you want me to jump in and complain about huge penises too, OK. Same thing. Ow! I don't have as much personal experience there, but physics alone dictates that there's a point where it would get very dangly and uncomfortable. Then there's the blood pressure that'd be required for an erection... Ooh, brutal. So, there goes your "no women" argument. ^_~

Big breasts are great!! I just spent 6K for a new pair in RL, so why not 20 bones for VV2? - Gazzy

thomasrjm ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 12:44 AM

Poser has always been a surreal fantasy applied to both its female and male body types. Dork is a very perfect 6foot woderful flat belly and hung 20% better than 'Mr Average'. Posette is around 5'9" with big rounded "C-cups" ,definitely not Mrs Five foot three, 40pound overweight that you encounter in slacks with 2 'rugrats' and an 'anklebiter' in the local shopping mall. If you need artistic realism in the human form, look no further than a couple of episodes of the Springer show. What I am honestly saying is most real everyday people are not Mr and Mrs Poser perfect and all girls breasts will grab my evil eye regardless of size or shape. My final wish being that Poser 5 will include some average "pot gutted" "short arsed" "small breasted" "Child bearing hips" "barge tail" characters and clothing, to break the monotony of seeing so much Playboy magazine perfect "T & A" in our artwork. My 2 cents worth, Tommy.

FishNose ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 1:45 AM

I like 'em big and I like 'em small. The important thing is, good modelling, good composition, good posing, good lighting, good rendering, good postwork. Convincing big tits are great, and so are medium sized ones, and little ones and completely flat, I have no specific preference - I just love women. But when the tits get to breathless-adolescent-fantasy-size and stay there, under the girls' chins, it gets boring if that's all you get to see.... :] FishNose

c1rcle ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 1:55 AM

breasts.....a subject I always like to get my teeth into, I don't mind the size really, small or large are fine with me just so long as they are on the girl's/woman's chest and not hanging down near her knees, this may sound strange but since I started using poser I look at women/girls in a totally different way, I don't just see the interesting bits like most men/boys, I now look at the shape, colour, position, posture, the way they walk, talk, stand, sit, I look at them now as potential models for poser. Rob

Eowyn ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 3:13 AM

I am kinda bored with seeing breasts the size of a basketball in the galleries. But maybe that's just me. After all, I belong to the very very small minority of Renderosity regulars who never bought Voluptuous Vicki (and never will) snicker

beav1 ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 3:25 AM

Actually...I DO like the large proportions on characters like the Franzetta-like ppl that Wyrm- makes....it's part of the fantasy genre thing. But I like pictures of real ppl to look like reral ppl...How's that for wearing both the hats???...:) Beav

eirian ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 4:12 AM

Size doesn't matter :-) What I don't like is spending hours perfecting a nude portrait of a beautiful woman (not VV), and getting gallery comments about deflating her life preserver. It just seems somewhere between petty and spiteful. VV isn't exactly a realistic female figure, but that's hardly the point. And I'm a woman: I don't find it offensive. Laughable, occasionally, but not offensive.

orphea ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 7:48 AM

Hey! Wait for me! I think Poser's kind of a cartoony medium that lends itself to exaggerated body forms--let's see what happens if I crank the boob dial up to 10! I don't think realism is necessarily the point; I think playfulness is.

orphea ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 7:49 AM

Oh, and I definitely think somebody should create a character called "Voluminous Vicky!"

Xena ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 9:00 AM

Fishnose said Convincing big tits are great, and so are medium sized ones, and little ones and completely flat, I have no specific preference - I just love women. Totally agree with that statement :) And Eowyn hun, I'm in that minority too ;) I create big breasted characters, and I love them. But I also think Tuesday by Kiera and Blackhearted is gorgeous, and she's got itty bitty titties.

Kiera ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 11:13 AM

Hey, thanks Xena. =) Blackhearted and I are really into making "pear shaped" characters because they reflect the reality of North American women today. However, they are still idealized.. curvy, sleek. I think larger women are also attractive, but that's not the particular art that I like to make. I really like SMV's body a LOT, and she by no means has large breasts. Even her "implants" morph is quite conservative, and I like it that way. No woman with a 20 inch waist is gonna have DD breasts, and in my work I try to strike a balance that's appropriate to the chracter. Idealized, perhaps, but not outrageous.

Blackhearted ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 11:48 AM

i just dont like large breasts -- i find small, perky ones FAR more attractive than massive heavy things that flop all over the place and break things :) i do try to inject what i think is attractive in a woman into my characters... although i have made several 'larger' chested women, ive never made a mammoth-mammaried woman like the ones on jerry springer. sorry to disappoint, folks, but thats just a complete turn-off for me. i think its grotesque, to say the least. the new character by kiera and myself, frazella, has just about the largest breasts ill ever morph on a poser model. however, a lot of people dont know that you can load the VV breast magnets on ANY character - wether it be supermodel vicky, the vicky goblin, whatever :) so if you like a character/texture package but want larger breasts, its not hard to accomplish with the vicky dials and/or the VV magnets. to each his own, i suppose. i honestly think the smaller the breasts, the better - but i know im in the minority. the media has a lot to do with people's perceptions on breast size - and so does nature, in a way. all throughout history, wide hips and large breasts have symbolised fertility (look at prehistoric 'earth mother' idols), and therefore have been sought by males both consciously and subconsciously/instinctually. thats the strength of poser though - it allows you to create whatever type of character you prefer, and there will always be people that appreciate your artwork. so while i may cringe when i see a render that i think would have looked far better if the breasts werent the size of watermelons, i would never comment in the negative - people make what they like, and everyone likes something different :) (thank god - that leaves more small-breasted women for me, snicker) cheers, -gabriel

Blackhearted ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 12:10 PM

well said, ron... and yeah, i agree with you. seems i jumped into the discussion and completely overlooked the more important things. ive been there - some women who were stunningly attractive (one was a fashion model), but she was so self-centred and shallow i couldnt stand being in the same room with her, let alone consider being intimate. cheers, -gabriel

soulhuntre ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 1:23 PM

Because I work with models directly, and through clients all the time - as well as knowing some fashion/fetish/porn photographers - I don't really lump attrative women together (except in a photo shoot). I knwo that some of them are dumb, some are smart and some are sweet and so on - just liek anyone else. I will say that the percentage or really attractive woemn who are also great people is about the same as it is for less attractive women. So whatever personality type I want... it is possible to find it housed in a dynamite body... so why not go for that? :)

praxis22 ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 3:08 PM

Hi, Bad, on a simple aesthetic level, they look stupid, they spoil the line of the figure. IMO But I also own Voluptuos Vicky, so "go figure" :) later jb

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Fri, 03 May 2002 at 4:27 PM

I like them small. Or medium-small. Always have and I guess always will. I feel that way for several reasons: In real life, (cover eyes if easily offended) during sex, you'll find the smaller ones don't hide in the armpits when a lady is on her back nor resemble cow udders when on her knees. Smaller ones, in my experience, have mostly always been more responsive. And, not sure why, but smaller-breasted women seem to be bore active or somthing. Kinda like the women with large breast think to themselves "I have GREAT breasts, so I don't need to do anything except let this guy enjoy them." Whereas, possibly, women who feel their breast might not be as big as men would like them tend to think (possibly), "I'll make up for it in other ways!" Who knows...rhetorical question. Of course, pretending to know anything that might be going on inside a woman's head is sure to get me flamed here...grin! Secondly, as it pertains to art, perception of the artist being what it is, I have always felt there needs to be a certain amount of symetry in nudes. I like to be able to draw a straight vertical line from the side of the shoulder down to the hips and have the line touching at those two points. That's the head-on view. On the side view, I think the breasts should stick out no further than the butt does. Otherwise, it looks obviiously top-heavy. I don't mind the shoulders being a bit more narrow than the hips. BlackHearted's Selyne (waif) comes to mind as fitting just about all of that description. In fact, every character I have ever used (or tried to use...grin) has had a breast reduction with the exception of the Selyne Waif morph. Large, I suppose has its place, just like noted above, in fantasy. Boris, Frank, et al have probably led us that way. After all, it IS called fantasy. But, should I ever do any fantasy, I will still use my idea of what a breast should be. I still appreciate what others have done with the larger sizes, tough. I sometimes look at them and wonder how they would have looked less endowed. Sorry to be so long-winded.

arcady ( ) posted Mon, 13 May 2002 at 4:44 PM

The size doesn't matter as long as they don't look, feel, or bounce like silicone. Fake breasts are a bigger turn off than a full on 'ZZ-Top' Beard would be... I'm very 'fond' of the 'natural' morph on vicky. :) Voluptuous Vicky for me has all the wrong curves in all the wrong places. The ultra thin hips on a big silicone bosom just don't work.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

arcady ( ) posted Mon, 13 May 2002 at 4:48 PM

On the other hand when the bosom is small enough that natural dial is not as or at all needed. And the 'little perky' look is quite pleasing as long as it doesn't look childish (ie: it's good when on a woman's body).

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.
