just a wee update. I think this is as far as I can take this one.. any suggestions are most welcome and hey!!! she's got clothes on!!.. not all of us are here just to show a bit of virtual flesh*L* Njoy Dolphy... :D

LOL! Okay, something else you might try, if you want to explore the possibilities a bit more. The flame object probably has a texture map of some kind, so why not try your hand at building a texture and a transparency map for it that could further enhance the "fire" idea. It wouldn't be that difficult, actually: just study how transparency maps work and then give it a shot.

ahaaaaaaaaaah... L.. I would .. if I could find me a P4 hair template.. which is probably somewhere real obvious like creativelabs.com or somethingL..

I'd lose the red thing if you can't fix it. It draws way too much attention.

Dolphin ( ) posted Sat, 04 May 2002 at 4:58 PM

it's meant to. hence why the red thing's red and everything else is blueL.. apart from her lipsL

Oh. Okay.

Dolphin... How about this... Replace the "flame" with postwork...

Valandar >> hey there :) .. weeeell.. one minor problem.. I'm just a beginner at this so I'm trying to avoid postwork until I get to such a point that I'm fully aware of the capabilities/ incapabilities inherent to poser.. I know this is frustrating the hell outta me not being able to just put flame in, but I figure it'll spur me on perhaps to finding a way in which I can create a flame like look using objects and other stuff already available within poser itself S.. anyway.. I decided I kinda like the old floating satin/silky seethrough cloth thing... I'll maybe see what I can do with a transparency map or two like clever ole Virtualsite suggested and see where we get with that :) thanks for the suggestion :) it's nice to know people are taking the time to have a look and think about these things :D Dolphy..

Then try this - it's not really post-work... Put a flat plane around the sphere, and put a texture map and transmap of a flame on a black background, with an Ambient color of dark red and a diffuse color of white, and a highlight color of absolute black. That way it's entirely in Poser, and isn't postwork.

any idea where I'd go about gettin that tex and trans tho?.. Ive had heaps of trouble finding flames for poser.. or anything to do with them.. guess it doesn't handle them too well huh?

You'd make it in Photoshop, or Painter, or whatever.
